Here is a riddle for ya-How do I get thirty w/u's out of a p-3@936-p-3@744-p-3kat@630-p-2@350 and a pentium 233?

Well, umm--I don't. The stats are flattering though.
I don't have any assimilations cause I tired of trying to convince a bunch of web freaks that a processor could do something productive. And to attempt to tell some of these folks how to configure even the gui version (set the screensaver to blank screen) is generally met with a disturbing "deer in the headlight" look. I had a "friend" who was going to run seti and he gave it up because he said it intefered with his machine coming out of sleep mode. I suggested he just turn the monitor off at night and let his drives spin(better for it anyway in my opinion) but no, he said he wanted all the advantages of power management. He has not been invited over for a frag fest lately either.
Congrats to the guys who have had some luck in assimilating though. Has been a tremendous asset to the team productivity. And has allowed some of you to go to the front in this race. Hat's off to ya!

I noticed on a couple of machines that if power saving was on that it just didn't kill SETI production, but it also just plain killed the stability of the pc. Anyone else run into that?

I can't say about the power saving thing, mine are wide-open 24/7. I can see the potential for problems though. With everything going to sleep because of k/b &amp; mouse inactivity and the sys. needs to be very awake for seti, there are almost certain to be conflicts.
My production was terrible for today btw, fragfest on my three best machines. Lot of fun though.

Just to let u know my 'rents pc (p200mmx) finished a WU tonight, just shy of 39 hours ....wow....and still goin strong man, i'm hopin to get another one out before i fly back to sunny california, go team TETSUO!

What version of SETI are you running on that P200MMX?
My little bros Pentium MMX PC when it was at 166MHz on a VX board with SIMMS RAM &amp; fastest RAM timings would do about 23hrs/WU on CLi v2.4 ,about 24 hrs/WU with GUI v2.04.
Its now on a TX board running at (2.5x75MHz CAS2)187MHz with SDRAM ,its 1st WU on CLi v3.0 was 26 hrs (though 59% of that was at 166 MHz).SETI spy is predicting a sub 20 hr time for the 1st complete WU on v3.
If you like I'll let you the next times it gets

The latest version of SETI...i don't have it running 24/7 either, just as a screen saver, oh well...this WU looks like it'll be about 24 hours or so, later.

Go to the seetings for the screen saver and have it blank screen. The WU's are about 40% faster that way.
