Hello everyone @ CPU forum!

I wanted to take a moment of your busy Overclocking schedule to check out this message.

TeAm Anandtech (TA), at the Distributed Computing forum, is currently participating in a Correlizer race challenge against SETI.Germany (SG).
This challenge is currently going to last until Nov 16th.

TA was getting pretty close to leading the race until SG noticed and decided to up production to keep the #1 spot away from us!

It is my understanding it has been long since TA had the #1 spot in any project...I'd like to invite you to participate by donating your unusued CPU cycles to help us achieve the #1 post even if it is for a short period of time.

For all those that will participate and help us, you'll need to install the latest BOINC recommended client, create an account at the Correlizer site and join TeAm Anandtech.
When prompted which project to join please use this URL - http://svahesrv2.bioquant.uni-heidelberg.de/correlizer/

What better way to burn in that brand new CPU!
Not only will you help TA reach #1 spot but also crunch in the name of science!

Thanks a lot,
Wayliff

PS - If you like to visit or have questions, you can go to the DG forum and check out the the SG vs TA thread.

That typo aside, its for a good cause folks, you didn't buy those computers just to mine bitcoins all day, did ya?

Is this a CPU only project, or does it benefit from GPU power as well?

CPU only project.
AMD's processors seem to do better than Intel's, but if you OC i7 and Sandy Bridge then they do a lot of work.

Nice BOINC project for AMD machines and very very fast, it uses the The GNU
Multiple Precision Arithmetic Library for its calculations which runs optimal on AMDs chips.

Ok. I'll get in on it, in that case.

And, not meaning no open up a can of worms here, but does AMD's good performance extend to the Bulldozer uArchitecture, or does that only hold true for stars-based cores?
Just curious.

Dont think so for BD, maybe in the next version of the library and a new version of the Correlize client when the AVX/FMA/XOP optimizations get in, till then AMDs 6cores specially in 64bit Linux are great crunchers in this project.

My AMD 1100T, overclocked to 3.977GHz completes a work unit in 11.5 minutes.

Currently, the fastest rigs of TeAm members Biodoc (2 rigs,) mk, Rudy Toody, and ZipSpeed are ranked 2 - 6 for recent average credit (RAC.)

Join us on the list!

I've got a Phenom x4 9600BE @ 2.3GHZ and 56k internet. Can I help?
Yes! Thank you
The download and upload size of the work is fairly small so that shouldn't be a problem.
The download size of the BOINC and the Correlizer application is bigger but a one time only thing.

sorry this project is restricted to people with at least 57k internet. People stuck in last century should buy upgrade to a new century. In fact for you sir I like you, I have one just for you, for affordable price, only 50 buck.

I'm in with a Phenom 2 830 (C3 Deneb) at 3.5ghz. Quick question, does this project return errors for failed work, because I'm 95% sure I'm stable, but the CPU is under a week old, and I'm still making sure (see my other thread for tonight on the forum)

So far it looks like I'm running about 15 minutes per app.

lol. At 3.5ghz I doubt you would be having errors but if you're OC'ing by bus it could happen...
who cares if error! point all that matter in these no ? lol.

Yeah, it's a bus OC on a $50 Microcenter special CPU, and the board is a $50 3 year old ASRock A780FullHD. To be honest, I'm a little surprised the board let me take the bus to 250. At least it will keep my power usage in check, the CPU seems to be voltage locked at 1.35V, which is a good thing, because I pay almost $0.30 per KW/H. (DAMN YOU CON ED!!!!)

Anything is appreciated, and especially AMD cpus seem to do well in this project. My 1055t @ 3.0 is actually ahead of my i7 920 @ 4.0.

Correlizer isn't as sensitive as PrimeGrid or Milkyway when it comes to less than perfectly stable CPUs. My temps are not nearly as high as they are with PrimeGrid either

I added my laptop just to get started, and joined the team, but the BOINC client shows "Error - No work available to process"

What am I doing wrong?

My userid is the same as here.

I've been participating in this race from nearly the beginning, but I just recently unwrapped an AMD X4 630 2.8Ghz quad-core rig, and I'm having some issues getting WUs for it too, for some reason. I don't know why. It's not just you.

Joined with a 1090T @ stock. I have an unused A4-3400 lying around so might power that up too.

Have all of you with WU issues gotten WU's now?

Also, make sure that you connect to Team Anandtech correctly. I thought that I was connected but a day later I still wasn't on the list; when I went to the team page and joined after that I immediately showed up on the list under Team Anandtech.

lol - thanks for the correction.
Who knows what I was thinking about...but it might have had to do with the "Distribute Goodies" subforum.
