I made no qualification about diversity. It is backfiring, plain and simple. Look around the world. Diversity is great when everyone involved is of the same class/education level but take it out of the laboratory and it fails miserably in the real world where most people are stupid and when driven by fear react like animals.

Diversity is not backfiring. The racists and bigots are losing in Europe, that is why they are acting so desperately. I will also say that Europe's immigration policy, from what I've seen needs to be changed. Too many immigrants have come in far too quickly while the previous ones have not yet fully integrated into the society. Part of that is due to Europe's different structure than America, where here it is easier to practice your old lifestyle.

But then again, Europe needs new labor and their populations are not meeting the demand.

Diversity is seen by some as a negative thing. Michael Savage goes on how bad it is. It can be bad, sure. Anything can be bad due to bad people. But as a whole, it is a positive. Seeing people from all over the world living happily in most places is a good thing. What is happening in Europe is not happening in America and that should show you that diversity is not to blame, but ignorance and hatred is.

Hatred usually stems from ignorance.

They are losing in uerope, but it's gonna be a long fight, and as long as the major politicians won't pul their heads out of their behinds it's not gonna change much.
The problem is not the amount of immigrants, it's a problem of integration. Denmark (my country) has cut down severely on the amount of immigrants but integration is largely at a standstill.
In Sweden they have not cut down on immigration, and yet integration is one of the best in europe, with good numbers in the workforce.
My theory is that immigrants react to how they are recieved, in countries like denmark and england, they are not welcomed, and therefore don't really participate in society, but in sweden they are welcomed, so integration works alot better.

And yes, major parts of old europe needs change in labour laws.

Diversity is a good thing, and we will need it in europe if our childbirth rates don't go up, which i doubt they will.

Humans are instinctively inclined to fear/hate anything that is different. As a civilized species, we have to rise above that.

If you're the person out there who says something like "I'm not a racist but...", then you're a racist and you're part of the problem.

obviously one of many tragedies on the rise, this is on thing that comes from the aftermath of failed communism, and communism in the first place is firstly a failure of governmental prospect, in which the equation is:

inspiration = motivation = effort = ...blindness = instability = unethical pressure = REPEAT

Sad, huh? the REPEAT continues until the nation falls or a new system is suggested, in which it has to reoccur or reattempt itself so many times until they give up communism, slowly but surely if they want to survive. SURVIVAL is to the indivitual and not to the nation; when you start thinking communism, it simply is trash in the garbage being regurgitated to spat out to make your common people even more stupider than they will be in the future.

Russia is on a good TOP OF THE LIST for the Central Intelligence Agency.
Do they posses nuclear weapons: Yes
Armed Forces: Yes
Military Intelligence: Yes
High population: Yes
History of intense opposition: Yes
Has invaded another country: Yes
Has instability in its common people: Yes
"Has tried to look better than the United States": Yes

Weigh the factors, they're a super power close enough to the Middle East and have influence. To hear racism going on in a country like that, we know something is wrong with the government, not to say that the government is intended to control the people, but to maintain a level of peace within their own borders - so that they can import and export - because no country in the world will be successful without a level of peace in their own country so that they can maintain trade and keep their economy alive.

Those who support racism in Russia are fools like the cold hearted men of the United States Civil War days, that vain efforts will survive for some people who chose to remain blinded by their pride and selfishly personal lives.

That is the point. Diversity forced in the wrong manner simply breeds more biggots and racists. Think about this for a while. 60 years ago most racists were so out ouf fear and ignorance yet today most are that way from experience. We are going the wrong direction.

Russia has major social problems. For example, despite (or maybe in spite of?) the fact that private gun ownership is strictly outlawed, Russia has the highest murder rate in the world. More than twice that of Mexico and more than 4 times that of the US. Russia is essentially ruled by its mafia. Crime and violence are everyday events. This is yet another symptom. It has nothing to do with diversity and everything to do with a country that is collapsing into anarchy and dictatorship.

I could have just said " the south" or "Below Pennsylvania" but I thought it was more appropriate.

Well, since you brought it on with the mason-dixon line comment...being the most progressive state south of the mason-dixon line is like winning the special olympics...

No, I have not lived in NC. However, I'm still surprised at just how racist much of the South still is. People enjoy patting themselves on the back at the progress of the last 40 years, but there's still a LONG way to go.

And if that's not bad enough, the opposite is true in much of the country as well. Reverse racism is getting ridiculous in areas such as college admissions and in the workplace.

Finding an appropriate compromise shouldn't be as difficult as American society has made it.

America still has a LONG way to go before it comes close to competing with much of the DEVELOPED world regarding racism.

Racism exists within all cultures and all races..
