New UI is slick... been playing around with it since I got home. It certainly feels more modern; I don't think they could have stuffed in any more features.

Don't really need all of the streaming and recording stuff though...

[EDIT]: Getting odd performance metrics on my Vega 64... usage fluctuates more than it should with these drivers.

Radeon Boost?

Is this Foveated Rendering?

Or Dynamic Render Resolution Scaling, based on movement? Does it require game support for it?

These have the same bug as a prior 19.10.x or 19.11.x series driver did.

If you're running 4K UHD @ 60, and 4:4:4 like I am, if you enable "GPU Scaling", it drops your display output format to "4:2:0" for some unknown reason, even though your display device is physically the same. Bummer.

Turns out I'm only having my usage fluctuations with Unreal Engine games... oh boy. A troubleshooter's paradise (not).

Will give this title a try tonight; see if my luck differs and let you know. Might be related to the issue I'm having with other UE games.

Thanks, have read a couple of other people on different sites like "The Guru of 3D" having some issues with Vega 64 and RDR2 with these new drivers, where the screen just blacks out, there is sound only still in game and then W10 blue screens, or whatever they call it now with W10, needing a hard reset. But mine would not even launch at all.

Huh, just reading this, and clicking something in Firefox Nightly... these drivers just TDR'ed on me, but thankfully, this time, after a few seconds of "black screen", managed to recover.

I am, however, mining with NH on the RX 5700 (ClaymoreDual 14) and the CPU (Ryzen R5 3600), as well as running Folding@Home on my secondary, a GTX 1660ti 'Gaming X' card.

Doesn't do that here with a Radeon VII

Sorry, forgot to add, "In conjunction with using VSR, @ 5180 x 2880, on a native 4K UHD TV".
My Radeon VII and a Vizio M50-E1 with these "2020" drivers does -
5120x2880 60hz @8bpc VSR "on" with 4:4:4 and GPU scaling "on",
4096x2160 60hz @8bpc VSR "off" with 4:4:4 and GPU scaling "on"
3840x2160 60hz @12bpc VSR "off" with 4:4:4 and GPU scaling "on"

Perhaps the amount of memory available to the GPU or the architecture of the GPU is the reason?

Weird. I had the same problem with an RX 580 or 570, a few months before I got my GTX 1660ti and RX 5700, I had to roll back a driver rev, when that started to happen.

Maybe it has something to do with my display, or maybe my HDMI cables, if the driver does some sort of "bandwidth test" on them? (Could they?)

Doubtful
I use cheap (Monoprice) HDMI cables.
I still think amount of memory or architecture is the cause.
Both the 1660 and 5700 are newer, but not better than the VII in performance capability.

Didn't understand how you can adjust this resolution that is not supported in HDMI 2.0?
Maybe it will be in HDMI 2.1

It is selectable in the Radeon software (as is 8bpc and 10bpc @ the same settings) and my Vizio M50-E1 panel supports it (both 30bit and 36bit color), so I assume the HDMI cable just passes it along.
"Supported", "available", and "usable" are generally 3 different things that may all have the same end result sometimes (and other times not).

Can you direct sharpness in the film? And see a difference?
Can you tune RGB 10BIT or 12 BIT and see a difference?
What does it improve in a movie?

I don't know about Sharpness filters, but for 10bit or 12bit color, the movie has to be encoded in HDR10 or Dolby Vision, I believe. And that's only 10bit color, I don't know about how that you would go about achieving 12bit color for movies.

No matter the resolution, I manage to convert any movie to RGB
4: 4: 4 and with the 1050TI see new color quality and more light
No matter HDR10 or Dolby Vision

do amd have good 24 p Progressive that looks like 60FPS ???

Can't help there, I don't watch movies on the computer.
But I can see a difference in the few games I play, colorwise and sharpness, with or without HDR10.

I personally think so, but I maybe don't have the same display setup that you do.

See your other thread, I think that you need to disable "Black Frame Insertion" on your TV, to get a better, smoother, flicker-free 24P signal.

Sending 4:4:4 over a cable is much like sending LPCM audio over a cable vs Dolby or DTS. Sure you can do it, but it's just an increase in storage file size and bandwidth not perceptive quality. 4:2:0 is visually lossless for video content. That's why it's a standard. I very much doubt that you would be able to reliably pick out what is 4:4:4 and what is 4:2:0 in a test where you didn't know what content was what. You say you can see new color quality and more light. If that is actually true and not just various forms of bias, how did you determine it was better? If it is not various forms of bias is the content accurately depicted after conversion? Have you verified it's accurate against the industry's source file? Usually you cannot increase quality above your source.
