Why is an $800 RTX 2080 not completely destroying the $500 Vega 64??
Vega is really impressing me, specially after the RXT release which to me is completely disappointing for the insainly high price.
I wish we could get the 7nm Vega refresh already..

Can't talk about Nvidia in the AMD subforum. You are right though. We have these handful of examples where Vega is completely amazing. So what gives on the rest of the titles? I've long been convinced that most of this team red and team green war comes down to how competent the game devs are. That often times ties in with who sponsors the game.

Sorry didnt know I wasnt supposed to mention the other "N" word in the AMD subforums. LOL
Yeah I think the same way and I believe it all comes down to the whole who sponsors the games, kinda like you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kinda thing.
I still think there are hidden features in the Vega series of cards that are being blocked or hidden for what ever reason.
I say this because on the reveal of these card during the AMD press event there were key features announced and shown off but are now missing for use to the public to this very day.
I dont remember off the top of my head exactly what they were but I am sure I could dig up what they were with a little googling.
So where are these features and why are they still turned off??
Will AMD enable those features in future driver updates??

We were discussing that in the below thread. The short answer is that NGG is disabled in current drivers for developer use. However, they appear to be working automatically in the driver. The trade off is that automatic will be better than nothing, but not as efficient as if a developer invoked them. Devs will not have access to the features in the current generation of hardware. Only in the next chips AMD releases.

So how many of you are trying to use this driver release on your Vega FE cards? This is still the latest driver available for Vega FE, and it is very buggy when used in tandem with the Q4 Radeon Pro base driver package.

I had it sort-of working before (Radeon Settings would complain of improper driver version, but I was able to use stuff like OverdriveNTool anyway) but now the driver won't load at all. Instead it loads Radeon Settings but not the driver when I do a switch. I have 18.8.1 running currently until AMD chooses to update the gaming driver for Vega FE to something that will work better.
