I recently purchased a Radeon 1950XT from Newegg to replace my 1800 GTO... I'm having some problems installing it correctly..
I tried to completely remove any of the video drivers/video programs (like ATI Tray Tools) that I had installed... I deleted registry settings, the files left in Windows, etc... But when I put the card in and reinstalled the drivers, I'm getting incorrect clock settings.
Both CCC and ATI Tray tools like my core clock at 500 and memory clock at 600. My core is supposed to be 625 and the memory is supposed to be 900. However the card is correctly listed as a 1950XT.
Someone suggested that perhaps I had a bad card but I dont' think that is it. When I run the automated clock configuration utility in CCC, it initially lists:
Current VPU clock: 500
Requested: 621 (goes to that be by default)
Current Mem Clock: 594
Requested: 900 (almost by default)
When I actually run the utility, I can see it testing out various speeds... BOTH the current core clock and requested clock start at 621... then go to 628.. then to 634 etc.. So it seems then like the card is running at the correct speed.
But after its done it goes back to 500/594 despite me trying to apply new settings. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Am I correct in assuming that there is nothign physcially wrong with the card? Thanks in advance!
