Radeon 32MB DDR keeps dropping - $91.99 (caution: LE (low end) model?!)

Abra, I'd say that order is correct for speed with current DX7 based 3d software. The Radeon has hardware features (HyperZ in particular, which is NOT HSR) that will push it past the GeForce2 ddr down the line (assuming that software is released that takes advantage of those features--which may be assuming alot).



By then, though, the NV20 and the Radeon II will be the stuff, and these cards will be had for $50! Woo hoo hoo!

I have played half life and quake II with my Radeon 32MB DDR. I just swapped it for a 32MB DDR AIW radeon to accomodate the DVI input on my 18.1" LCD. Works great! I had a couple minor issues in Quake 3, but I figured them out. No problems in Half Life.

I play Half Life with a Radeon 32 DDR and its working fine. It's in a CUSL2-C motherboard.

As far as I know, CS looks really bad with any new videocard. There is absolutely nothing you can do cus the game is old. No T&L, no FSAA, and shading just sucks. But I see ATI is dropping prices cus Nvidia has a ge-force 2 killer up their sleeve and they are getting ready for the hit.

I ordered from newegg several weeks ago when the price was $120 for the radeon. Before the card shipped the price had dropped and I called them and they gave me the diff back. Was very satisfied with them.

A comment on CS looking bad with any "new" video card: Just not true. You likely have driver/configuration problems.

CS (as well as every other game I've tried) looks incredible on my Radeon 32DDR as well as on my GeForce2 Pro 32 DDR.

Ques, Hey. That card is the Radeon VE, which is much more than just a "Radeon 32DDR without HyperZ." It's billed as having the best dual-head/multi-monitor yet seen, and also has the VIVO features of the current retail 64mb card. What it doesn't support, actually, is the current Radeon's T&L engine. It does have all the hardware DVD and non-3d multimedia support, though.

It should be a really nice card for everything but heavy 3d. It's targeted at a different audience than the Radeon is now, though (more like a traditional ATI target audience), so I don't see how the VE's imminent release would have anything to do with the price dropping on the OEM 32DDR card.

Hmmmmm....i wonder when the price drop on this card will stop....i've wanting to buy one of this since months ago...but didn't have to guts to purchase one yet cuz i am still waiting for other parts for my computer. When the price of this card stops dropping for a week or so I will definately buy it

Please clarify: is this the Radeon VE without the T&L features or are you guys saying this is the Radeon DDR that we all know and love dropping in price b/c of the VE's impending release.
