Even though I have a 8800GT coming within a week. I thought I would post these links for the Radeon 3870 & 3750

good point... those cards CHOKE at anything higher then 1280x768.... at 1920x1200 they perform at 1/3 th performance of a GT.... so you xfire them for? higher framerate while playing at max settings on 800x600 resolution in crysis? I am not even sure it will work well then..

Do yourself a favor and get a single 3870, or two if you can afford it... but no point in crossfiring the 3850

I looked closer a ncix canada and they expect to have a few diamond and his variants available, but extremely limited and expect 3 week delays. This is not a hard launch... hope its not as soft as the gt.

I suppose in the bigger scheme of things, but if you can guarantee a price like that, I'd err on the side of caution if you want this card, it's better to buy now rather to take your chances if the card's going to be price gouged or not.

If it gets price gouged, then I will just stick with my trusty 7900...

If it sparks a price war with nvidia and result in price slashing then I will buy more for my money...

Either way I am good.

Whats that about 225$? its 240+ shipping for the 3870 and 190 for the 3850.. neither of them is close to 225$

I ordered one this morning and my order has processed with availability confirmed. They apparently put that "1-3 week delay" as a precaution in case they're allotment doesn't come in as expected...at least that's what an NCIX rep said in one of the threads.

Unfortunately that doesn't always work for us Canadians since we might get charged duties when it crosses the border. But damn...since our dollar is pretty good now I would have paid even less than the $230.

Anyone know the warranty terms on Diamond cards?


Oh and OP...the price in your thread title says $250...not $240 which is what it is.

Good call. I placed an order, 15$ shipping still gets me below 250$. Will see how this goes, hopefully better than my experience with EVGA.

If i could walk into a best buy and buy a 3850 for 170 dollars, i would do it today. I would over clock it as soon as i get home though =)
