Radeon 6970 and PCIe x1 ?!

Just installed this Video Card and got this news, its using just one lane :/

I saw all bios options, and nothing seemed to help.

I double checked using gpu-z and the catalyst (newest) hardware info screen.

How can I deal with this ? I'm not a windows guy (more of Unix), and I know this will make my gaming suffer.

Are you talking about PCIe 1.0 or actually PCIe 1x?

RavenSEAL: yep, that's x1 not Ver 2.0. It is saying is using just one lane.

Smoblikat: can't see the video now, will when I get home, but I tested it and I "think" was slow (and was playing HON using i7 24GB and HD6970, should not ...)

MrK6: I think I did. This is an old Windows 7 install. Had Geforce 7950GT and was using full x16 as I can remember. May sure be the time to update

update: problem solved. just some dirty contacts. took the card, cleaned them and replaced. x16 now
