Radeon 8500: OEM vs. Retail question.

I just recieved my OEM 8500. I was suprised that it had S-video and DVI connections. Is this normal? It's also using 4ns Hynix memory instead of 3.6ns...I thought some of the OEMs were coming with the faster ram.

Yes, it is normal. However, there are some OEMs that do not have the DVI...

Where did you get your OEM 8500 from?

I got the Radeon from a trader here.

My OEM has the 3.6ms RAM and I have flashed it to Retail

Narse...does your card also have the S-vid and DVI connectors? I wish I had the faster ram but the price was good so I'm not complaining. I wasn't planning on flashing anyway but for sure it's not worth doing with 4ns ram.

I don't know all the details for flashing the Radeon but I can tell you it DOESN"T involve a trenchcoat

i have the flash utility if you want it... the person that put up the webpage with the flash utility received an e-mail from ATI telling him to take it down, so he did, but not before 5000+ people downloaded it; I was one of them
