Radeon 9500 Pro Cards Scarce....

Almost everywhere you look, the 9500 pro (Built by ATI) is out of stock. Anyone have any info as to why?
Can ATI not make them fast enough? Are they the hottest seller in history?
Any linkies?

I'd be interested to know if ATI is having problems keeping the channels supplied though....

I hope it is because they are making so many R350 and RV350 cores that they can't keep a constant supply of R300's. How long after the R350 is introduced will it be until the R300's are retired? Peace.

I picked one up at CompUSA last week, MWave had some last time I was there.

Thanks everyone, I will check out Best Buy and CompUSA. I have been constantly checking NEWEGG, but the keep pushing back the ETA for stock on the 9500 pro. Must be selling faster than they can be ordered.

I picked one up last night after visiting Compusa, Microcenter, 2-Circuit City stores and 2- Best Buy stores. I think I purchased the last one in town.

Oldie, what are you upgrading from? GeForce? Older ATI?
Lemme know how much of an improvement you get from this 9500 pro when you get a chance.

I had a Radeon 8500 128mb in my primary game machine(P4 2.53) and I needed a solid video card for my Athlon 2000 so I decided to just move the 8500 over and purchase a new card for the P4. I have not done a lot of testing yet but I have noticed a significant increase in framerate with all the games so far. I can now turn on AA and AF without losing performance. I scored 3731 without overclocking in 3DMARK2003. I noticed that the FX non ultra only scored 2900 with a similar setup as mine.
There seems to be about a 25 to 30 percent increase in performance over the 8500 128mb.

Upgraded from a 8500 LE 128 MB to the 9500 Pro. Very nice on the AA and AF even at high resolutions with little or no performance hit. Did have a conflict running it at 8X AGP with the Hyperion 4.45 Drivers. Would lock up on any D3D game after 5-20 minutes of game play.

i herd people buying a none pro Radeon 9500 and "hacking" it to a 9500pro but I dont know how successful that hack is.

that is only with the nonpro 9500, and it no longer works since they changed the pcb design.

You can pick up an Sapphire Atlantis 9500 Pro retail box at Googlegear for $186. I ordered one Monday and UPS 2 day air shipping only cost me $1.

It came with all the cables and adapters plus a copy of Power DVD XP.

I am not sure about the non pro, but the 9500 pro does support dual monitors. I do not have two monitors so I cannot tell you how well it works.
