Radeon 9500 Pro or Geforce4 Ti4200?

[Confuse]

As some of you might know Best buy is offering the Radeon 9500 Pro for $150, but before this I was thinking of purchasing an Asus Geforce 4 Ti4200. I am looking to have this card run doom3/hl2 and last me for a while. But I am not quite sure how they compare, some of the benchmarks I've seen didn't seem to have much difference. Although there is the revised version, but I don't know if its this one. Thanks!

i would wait for the games to come out before you spend your money . by the time they come out all the cards will be cheapeer anyway . but if you gotta buy now for 150$ thats not a bad price . but i still say the 40$ difference in price isn't anuff to go with it over the ti4200 . the 9500 benches better it is true but in most the benchs it is only 1-3% better . untill you turn on all the eye candy then it beats it pretty good but the games you are talking about your more worried about being killed to be looking at all the eye candy .

they are pretty close in benchmarks, you can get the ti4200 a little cheaper, I do not think you will go wrong with either card...

I think the Ti4200 cards are the way to go. You can get a 64 meg card for less than $100, and both
of the Ti4200 cards that I have bought overclock to Ti4600 speed. It could be 6-8 months before the
first of these 2 games is released. I think that Doom 3 is likely over a year from release.

Get the 9500, its supports DX9 and is a faster card! I have a 4200 but if I had to make that decision now I would go ATI.

My soft modded 9500 replaced my Ti4200 128. 4xAA is Great! Finally clear graphics. ATi finally got their sh*t together and really worked on their drivers the last 18 months.

i say save ur money until both games come out...because those cards can barely run the latest games right now @ full detail.....(my rig setup barely runs splinter cell @ full detail...i get fps hiccups still....going as low as 30 fps)...so save up man...

Radeon 9500 pro is faster, but also 1.5 time more, i would get ti4200 if you want a card to hold you over for a year, radeon 9700 non pro for 200 bucks if you want for more then 1 year
