RADEON 9700 PRO RETAIL - 319.99 + shipping

I called gamestop today to confirm my overnite shipment but they could not tell who was in the first 250 orders - or so they claim.

They also said this friday they would receive another shipment of cards.

I sent them an e-mail a little while ago asking about the status of my order. I just received a reply saying they are out of stock and have no idea when they'll receive more. I ordered my yesterday with next day shipping. I'm going to call them. :|

Just spoke with Kimberly in CS. She said they have a limited supply of the cards and that each order is being verified. They'll ship to each verified order, in the order it was placed, until they run out. They are supposed to receive more cards by the end of the week but she couldn't confirm that. As they get more in they will continue to ship until all orders are fulfilled. :frown:

I still have a charge for two of them on my card I ordered yesterday around 4pm eastern.

There's an authorization (not yet posted) on my credit card and their verfication dept. contacted me last night via e-mail re: my order so it looks like things are moving forward.

I also paid for overnite now its been 48 Hours calling gamestop doesn't help.

Yesterday I received the same e-mail that scottrico got today. That's what prompted me to call their customer service dept. (See my post above.)

Today, responding to an e-mail inquiry from me, they sent the following:

Dear Dan ,
We had a rush on product and we will allocate on a first come first serve basis. You will be receiving an email within the next 24 hours with the status of your order. When the order does ship and is not received within the Overnight delivery time we can make arrangements to credit.

Man! I got burned by Dell last year with the 8500 now it looks to be happening all over again.

I agree, it doesn't look like they ever had the card in stock, or may be not wanting to honor the price.

You can't take orders for stuff @ $319.99 and then wait for the price of the card to drop to fill the orders. Well, you can, but that seems to be bad business. If that is what they are doing I'm going to be angry.

Just got a call from gamestop 5:55pm cali time.
They said that they did not have enough cards to cover all the orders
but will ship my card out next week.

She said I was one of the "lucky ones".

I wonder what that means?

i dont mind the wait, i just wish they would give some type of timetable on deliveries. I guess we will have to wait till tuesday if they are closed for labor day.. I'm waiting for the VIA KT400 mainboards to come out so i can take advantage of the 8x AGP.

I have not read any reviews that they got this card to run on a 8x agp board.

You don't need 8x anyway.
you don't need 4x.

But it would be nice to see some benchmarks.

Start saving your pennies then, because I've seen no reports of bad drivers. I just found out that the one I ordered from ecost came in. so I'm off to install it.
