My Saphire X850XT ($375) Refurb I got from them is rocking without any problems; it even came with all the cables and accessories. Maybe I just got lucky, but I'm 1 for 1 with Newegg refurbs. Although for like $150 you can pick up a used one in the FS/FT forum, so for only $25 difference it might be 'safer' to just buy one used.

usually newegg refurbs are just untested customer returns. some are okay some aren't. newegg is just using you to find out rather than pay for testing or pay for returning to the manufacturer.

I bought one of these refurbs several months ago with no problems. I paid about $60 more than the current price.

I use the Omega drivers.

Apparently this card is based on the r360 pcb and can be flashed to a 9800xt though it requires (apparently) a better cooler.

Great deal if you can upgrade to a 9800xt (then again, I just upgraded to a 9550 pro [$50] from a 8500LE [$50 two years ago] so I'm a little behind the times).

No but for 160....it would be worth it if it performed better.

9800pro refurbs were that price back when I checked them out. At 130bucks, this isn't a bad deal if you're looking for something a little less than a 6600gt but still offering solid performance.

The 6600gt agp is definately the all around better card, and argueably the better buy still though.

would it be worth upgading my ti4600 to this 9800pro ? i got a dell p4 2.53 with 640 meg of pc2700. i paly alot of americas army and cod allied expansion multiiplayer.

I know from experience that this card refurbed has little chance of having an r360 core. It also makes little sense to buy this card refurbed when the new retail ones are $158. The new ones will likely be r360 while the refurbed will likely NOT be r360. Ask anyone who has actually bought these cards refurbed and retail and they'll tell you this. Many people buy the card and return them if they don't have r360 cores. These then end up refurbished......

Flash all you want but remember the XT has faster ram and other enhancements.

Yes, it is worth upgrading to a 9800pro from a Ti4600. Easy choice.
