Radeon 9800 Pro's From Dell

I just purchased a dimension 4600 from dell with a Radeon 9800 pro (128mb) and I was wondering if anyone knew how well these suckers overclock. It's not possible to flash these to the XT, correct? Thanks.

There arent any 128MB XTs so i dont think you can flash them. As for regular OCing, just try it out. It varies from card to card, so just see what it can do.

i also just purchased a 4600 tonight with a 9800 pro for $180 dollars extra, with this graphics card, will I be able to play newer games. i got an 80gb hardrive, and 1gig of memory.

Are they full pros or those downclocked oem TX models? Just curious.

If you are lucky, they'll have the XT's r360 core rather than the pro's r350 core. If so, you can probably flash them.

You can flash the 128 MB Pro if it has a r360 core, you can also flash a r350(though you won't get any performance increase, and a much higher chance of failure) You can overclock them with ATITool if you don't want to risk flashing it. take the hs off and look at the writing on the core

You can also run ATITool to see if you have an R360 or not... the settings screen will show you the Chip Type.
