WTF is wrong with people like this?

Do you have no sense of right or wrong? You cost BB the resources involved with 3 returns and you cannot even manage to keep one of them?

My original order from BestBuy.com was eligible for the $25 gift cert, but the exchange messed that up (they entered the exchange as a return and then a new order).

Anyway, I tried 3 times and was 0-3. Infineon every darn time. 2 cards from different stores on Long Island and then 1 card from New Jersey. I ended up giving up and ordering Sapphire OEM Radeon 9800 PRO at New Egg for $306. With the darn 8.5% NY sales tax, this ended up only about $30 more. No fancy box, but it came with CD, DVI adapter and some other cables.

Weird, yours should be much better...

As far as returning, i don't feel bad since i will keep atleast one from BB (I may keep this one and just say screw it) and i have bought my last three radeons from there including my 9700 pro i am replacing this with. I asked the chick at the counter, i was honest with her and it wasn't a big deal. So since i wasn't dishonest (first one was already opened anyway) and i will be keeping atleast one, i dont see what the big deal is.

How much better should mine be?

I dunno, i just thought with the 3200+ and the pro it would be better. I did a few 3d mark tests with the card i returned and got 5500 everytime 5600 overclocking. This one i havent even overclocked and its 6000.

Hmm thats strange.

is your 2.4c overclocked? The bartons a great value, but it doesnt perform quite as well as the 2.4c

nope, it was overclocked but school and work keep me from taking the time to find the right settings.

Best Buy shows this back up at $299. At a BB B&M in Columbus Ohio today they showed a regular price of $349 with a $50 instant rebate.
Monarch does still show the 9800np at $249.

300$ is too much for this card. I got my pro for less than that, albeit through the good graces of BB customer service

Isn't $300.00 for a 9800pro a decent price right now? It's even a little bit more over at Newegg for one.

If only it were easier to find the samsung ram....

At this point if I hadnt gotten souch a great deal at best buy I would just order the pro for 306$ from newegg

I keep looking for comparative benchmarks but how much better is the pro vs the non-pro?

If you mean the 128MB OEM cards, I wondered the same myself. It sounds like the only difference is the more expensive one comes with a DVI adapter and some s-video cable thing. That doesn't really seem like it should justify the huge price difference though.

so this deal at bb is a pretty much `hot deal` right? I'm lookin into buying a better gfx card, and was looking for a good deal to come along... Should I wait a week or so, or this is as good as it gets?

any input is helpful

Well, I think its about as good as you'll find for B&M retail. However, personally I'd pay an extra $50 and get the 9800pro online. You can get them for about $300 shipped. The one from newegg is 306 shipped, and a few others on pricewatch are coming in at a little less than that. Once you pay tax on the 250 at Bestbuy, thats probably 265 right there, so its actually only about $40 extra to get it online and get a Pro, especially since its questionable how much you can overclock the BB card.

Well I'm at 375 core/ 306 mem and my scores (listed a few threads up) are pretty much in the same ballpark.

Jeraden has a good point there. I need another one for another system, but this time I think I'll go for the Sapphire $306.00 deal over at Newegg.
