Why would I be joking? How is that any different than everyone getting the 9500 with l shaped memory and RMA'ing them when they don't mod?
In fact, It isn't even against the policy at BB. The return policy allows you to return it for any reason you choose within the return period. There isn't anything illegal about it.
so no, i'm not joking.

Just because people were doing it doesn't mean it's right.

its not like this issue of morals just surfaced. the same thing has been going on w/ 9500np's that wouldn't mod to a 9700, and also the 9800np's that wouldn't mod to 9800pros. and that latter of the two was coming from best buy...i guess they don't even have any 9800np's left. but come on, we're talking about video cards here...not fancy dinners or personal purchases through a business that can be written off for a tax break or something. besides, if best buy's return policy states that you can return it for whatever reason by a certain date, then one can do so without lying. just stating that you weren't happy w/ it, or that it wasn't performing the way you thought it would is reason enough (AND you're not lying about anything).

EXACTLY
theres no lying involved. Its part of their return policy.
Doesnt bother me in the lease. if it bothers you, dont do it.

So you go to the store and tell them that you tried to oc the card to 9800pro levels and it wouldn't work?
Originally posted by: Budmantom
Nope, i'd go and tell them I am not satisfied with it's performance.
Regardless, I could care less what you think about it. If you have a problem with it bring it up in it's proper place in forum issues. If the mods think it is innapropriate to discuss then we will all stop discussing it, in all the various threads it comes up in.
But please leave your moral agenda out of this thread, and stay on the topic od modding this card. Forcefully pushing a thread offtopic is against forum rules. Leave us alone.

There's just no reason for you to crap this thread, and your attempt at taking the moral high-groung and trying to make us feel somehow less of a person for suggesting the RMA'ing is frankly laughable. If you want to champion a cause, then go and campaign for wars to end, womens rights, or animal testing, at least then you'll have something remotely worthwhile to do with your time.

I am taking the moral highground out of this thread.
LOLHow about somebody takes italics off of the quote - it's hard as hell to read!
