No prob.

This is the main reason why I decided to save $80 and go for the HD 7950 instead of the 7970. At 1025-1050MHz it should also equal a stock GTX 680, and that runs at a much higher price.

I keep mine mostly at 1025/1500 for gaming. No voltage increase needed and it not getting too hot. Still plays everything very well, Crysis 3 Included. I can only imagine how much more they will get out of these cards with driver improvements this year.

Hello. i just registered here to ask you for some help. I have a GB 7950 WF3 with one of the lowest asic score i've ever seen - 58.4%. I can achieve 1100MHz on core with 1.2V and i can even reach 1200MHz but with 1.3V(i don't have problems with clocking the memory - with 1.5V. i can set right up to 1575MHz and with 1.6V - 1700MHz). I know this is a poor score but that's my luck so i don't complain. However my temps are very nice - even with 1.3V. - max core temp is 65 degrees and 66-68 degrees with 70% fan, and no more than 64 degrees with 1.2V on auto fan profile.

The question is do you think it's worthy to reflash with some GHz bios?

Welcome! I do not know about the bios, but I would advice against running at 1.3 V. That voltage can wear down your card rather fast, and for a 100 MHz increase I do not think the risk is worth the benefit. ASIC scores do not mean that much, and 1100 MHz is still a decent OC.

Well i set to 1.3V. only for benching. Don't use this voltage for 24/7 clocks. I use my card on 970/1370 on stock voltage fo 24/7.

Don't touch the bios if you have the version F43 (015.026.000.000907). It's the best bios for the Gigabyte 7950. If you have version FZ1 (015.029.000.000000) which is voltage locked at 1.25v is still good and you can easily achieve 1150, maybe 1200 if your card is fine with it (mine doesn't like more than 1150 with 1.25v).

As for overclocking, 1100/1500 will give you around 7970 GHz performances. I run mine at 1150/1500 (voltage: 1.25v/1.6v) and it is a beast. Temps on the core is under 67C and VRMs at 72C at max after many hours of gaming. and fans running at 50% on auto mode.

I think 1.3v would be the max, but I don't think it's going to burn your card out. I mean the 7950 Boost edition cards come with 1.25v stock. I wouldn't think 1.3v would kill it.

It won't kill it but will maybe diminish it's lifetime.

I too have a max of 1.25v on the core and 1.6v on the memory. That's plenty of power but not too much and it changes the 7950 to a freaking monster!!!!!!!

What is your asics quality? I can get 1150MHz with the same voltage like you - 1.25.
So your advice is to stick with 1100 on 1.2V.?

I found that my higher overclock isn't stable in Crysis 3... I got it to stabilize around 1100/1500.

In any case, trying to optimize my perf and IQ in Crysis 3. Just playing through the first sequence now (with the ships). High default settings, 1920x1200, 2x SMAA, no blur, no HUD movement. Still dropping to around 30s in certain areas, but 60s in others.

What's the best settings to play at? I don't mind being around 30 FPS as long as it never dips below, but right now the 7950 can't guarantee that.

My ASIC is 55.2%.

Anything from 1100 is a great OC Belkov and if 1100 @ 1.2v is running stable and gives you the FPS you want in games I would leave it there and enjoy the ride.

ok. Thanks. It's just i'm a little jealous with the owners of TF3 . On stock i can get max 970MHz and my stock voltage is high - 1.094... By the way you are may be the third 7950 owner with lower asics quality than mine i know.

Yeah the MSI 7950 is one the best best overclocker there is.
But the Gigabyte cooler is the top one IMO.

I think it might be exaggerated. Generally, only people with uniquely high overclocks will even talk about their overclocks.

I entered my code for the Never Settle Reloaded giveaway last Friday and haven't heard back. I've also emailed the amd4u support and gotten no response.

Has anyone else had a problem with them?

Also, I'm having trouble flashing the BIOS to F43. I downloaded the f43 bios from the website, but I can't get it to flash with either VGA @BIOS or Easyboost. What switch position am I supposed to be using? I'm on #2 right now.

Also, my BIOS version is FX0, not FZ1.

Here's how you should flash your BIOS, check post #6:

Never use the "easy flash" or anything running under Windows to flash your BIOS. Use the method in post #6 and enjoy!

Put the switch on position #1 or #2 it doesn't matter.

I had an issue with the first bundle, and they responded to the email I sent to that same address within about 2 hours or so. Most recent bundle, no issues receives Crysis 3 key, we'll see about Bioshock.

Also, how do you guys read the VRM temperature, and memory voltage? I haven't flashed the BIOS yet, but in Trixx, MSI AB and GPU-Z, I don't see the VRM temps, and I don't seen an option to set memory voltage (I see the option for vcore, even if it is locked).

Wow...I wonder why I'm having such a different experience. I even went to their twitter today too.

We'll see...

I use HWiNFO64 to monitor VRM temps.
