Balla- To crank her up some more.

Find the Enable Unofficial Overclocking EULA in the afterburner config file and put this after it: I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it

Also change Enable Unofficial Overclocking to "1". Voltage control option is in the settings, just check the box to enable it (although if you dont have reference cards, you probably dont have voltage control).

I am pretty sure that does not work anymore. Setting unofficial overclocking to 1 will cause weird flickering.

following this guide worked for me(steps 9-10 is enough): http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18431335

I got the flicker on desktop, not ig though... I'll try those steps next.

Ok who wants to help me out here, in MSI it's set for 1125mv, in OSD it's reading 1.25v (1250mv), GPUZ is telling me the voltage is fluxuating a bit, but mostly it's around 1.18~v, or 1180mv.

Ir confusor, do I have headroom here for voltage, and exactly how to I go about apply it?

Afterburner will go higher, but you have to go into the preferences and tell it that you want to unlock it. And by doing so they are not liable for any damages to your card.

@ Balla,

Try looping Unigine Heaven / Extreme setting -- should give a nice 99% flat-line for your GPU usage.

Yeah I'm cpu limited lol, hard to gauge my performance/stablity since often my 470 bottlenecked on it as well.

Haswell can't come soon enough.

Also anyone have a link for the PhysX mod for dedicated Nvidia + AMD display?

Internet searching for "Hybrid PhysX mod" could prove helpful for that.

This is the best I could do for right now.

Looking over @ OCN I currently have the 2nd highest score for the Valley Benchmark with a HD 7950.

Pat myself on the back

1325/1860
1.25v/1.7v

Once you get them installed, can you tell us what BIOS you have? My WF3 seems to have a relatively unknown FX0 bios and it doesn't seem to take any other BIOS.
Here you go. The cards have sequential serial numbers, so they are pretty much twins. Both have an ASIC quality of 61.2%.

What ASIC quality rating do you get in GPUz?

Ok - tell me what is your asics quality(right click on the GPU-Z).
This GB GHZ bioses are not very stable - this is just my observation. See some pages backward - i posted a link how to reflash your card. Try F43 bios version. By the way what is your bios? Check again in GPU-Z in the first tab.

My asics quality says 59.1

My bios says 015.029.000.003.000000

I don't see anything that say and three symbol bios

Modded Trixx seems to be working a bit better for me than Afterburner. Then again I'm not sure if I ever had Afterburner properly unlocked, even after I followed the /xcl instructions.

I think I have figured out my throttling issues. Every time my computer wakes up from sleep it throttles. Once I restart its fine. How can I remedy this?

If its a good 500W PSU, you should be fine. I have a 520W PSU and even under full CPU/GPU load, at the wall, I think I was drawing around 420W (Have the numbers at home). I have a 80% efficient PSU, so 420W at the wall is going to be 340ish for actual output?

Not sure what CPU you have, but my Phenom II at 4GHz is not exactly power efficient. And I have the voltage bumped on my 7950 OC.

my rig is a

i5 3570k at 4.2ghz

HIS hd7950 3gb turbo

8gb ddr3 1600

128gb ssd

500watt rosewill psu......

i have my core at 1100mhz and ram at 1370mhz.. now in ccc is the power slider the voltage? i moved that to 5% i noticed alot of you use 20% but lack

of knowledge with modern cards has me weary mainly my cheap psu has me sketched out haha but my old rig had a cheap psu that ran 24/7 for like

12years and still does....it's luck of the draw with lower end psu's i guess...anyway what would be the max i should Oc without psu upgrade?

keep in mind my cpu runs at 4.2ghz X4 while gaming.... witch prolly consumes more power than stock speeds? my last build was a socket A athlon 3000+

and i've kinda slacked on keeping up to date cuz i havn't had the money to build a new rig untill now so i'm feelin like a noob all over again :whiste:

Assuming it's a properly functioning PSU, you have nothing to worry about. You'd be hard pressed to draw more than ~350W while gaming with everything O/C'd.

I'm writting from my phone so i can't give you links, but i can give you some directions. Some pages backward i posted a link where it is described how to reflash your bios under dos - don't reflash under windows, because it's not secure. Go to the official Gigabyte site search for your card and in download section go for F43 bios. Before trying to reflash in the same download section go for utilities and download one of the GB flashing utilities - start it and you will be able to check what is your exact bios -F??. Then post it here.

I think that you won't have any troubles with reflashing to F43 bios if you follow every step from the link with the reflash guide.

I'm cpu limited until Haswell, so I tried something a bit different.

I tried to see how low I could get core voltage, memory voltage and powertune at the stock clocks of 960/1250 - while maintaining core usage and clocks.

Best I could manage was 1056mv, with vdroop it was around 1021mv for core, 1375mv for memory (I might be able to go a bit lower, but it crashed at 1337), and -5 powertune.

Is powertune tied to VDDC current? I found some areas would spike to around 6.5 or slightly more, causing it to drop usage if I kept my powertune target lower. If I went too far beyond -10, it would flip between 63% usage @960 or 99% @ 880 during those areas.

Neither 2.2.1 nor the 3.0 beta of MSI afterburner allow me to directly control core voltage. Trixx 4.4.0b (modded) allows me to control Vram voltage, however like AB it does not allow me to control core voltage (AB allows me to control Vram voltage). I have to use a combo of Trixx 4.6.0 (has no setting for Vram voltage) and either AB or 4.4.0b to control Vram and core voltage (lol).

Overall thus far I've been very pleased with my TF3 7950, you can see in my screen it can maintain a very low fan speed and decent temps while doing it. I've had some quirky issues with drivers and software but nothing I couldn't address thus far.

As mentioned before though, the void warranty sticker on the HSF screw was pretty lame, but that can be overcome.

HWinfo for monitoring and fraps for fps...

That's great!

It has many measurements that can be overlaid in AB. Thanks once again!

Strangely enough, after installing HWInfo, MSI AB started working again. Lol little bitch got jealous!

Wow dude that's might nice of you! A rare sight here on le internet!

It cost me nothing so why not?

Even if it did, the guy has done a good job supporting fellow 7950 owners, so he deserves a little treat. It was the least I could I do!

Once you get them installed, can you tell us what BIOS you have? My WF3 seems to have a relatively unknown FX0 bios and it doesn't seem to take any other BIOS.

You and me have hit the jackpot as far as WF3 revision goes! I haven't seen anyone with my FW0 either!
