Yep they are, and I'd guess it adds a bit to the price. They may have other exclusive content but the game alone is $110.

Well, the newegg one at $729 didn't mention it but when looking at the pics it's a BF4 limited edition one.

I didn't go follow each link because 1 was sufficient, feel free to follow the others and report back.

Edit:

All four of them have bf4 boxes.

Open your eyes much?

The SKU is different to the real BF4 edition (see OP link where the moderator explains). It doesn`t say BF4 edition on the name of the card.

I've never cared for the bundled deals myself. Rather have them remove said game/s and subtract the supposed game/s retail price from the price of the card. I can always buy the game later on much cheaper anyway.

Even if this card was faster than titan it makes no sense to price it at eg 900 usd imho. The market must be miniscule here.

Besides the die is smaller than 780 so amd will probably try to take all 780 and up market. And also some of the 770 market segment. 550-600usd soundt reasonable here just after the first months crazyness.

They had quite a disadvantage costwise vs 680 for diesize. If this 290 is just as fast as 780 they will regain the advantage at the highend.
But it still looks like mainstream 300usd is weak diecost wise.

If this mantle driver for bf4 is a +30% thing they might price the cards higher as bf4 is the game for many. There sure is no free ride. If it performs it sill cost us. Its always like that.

Bf4 is important for me. I dont care about performance for the rest to be frank. If bf4 rocks the rest will follow. I know thats strictly a personal thing though. But i will be dammned if there is not a lot of you with some of the same attitude. Bf4 fans tend to be like well bf4 fans.

Dont take scandinavian prices as good indicators. Everything is expensive and highend gfx cards is no exception. On the contraire. But normally nv cards tend to be relatively more expensive than amd vs usa. So it doesnt bode well if you want low price. But if you want stellar bf4 perf it bodes well. Lol depends on your perspective.

It's pre-release, prices are high so that people pre-ordering don't get pissed if AMD adjusts prices up before shipping.

NE doesn't even have them in stock yet. Price will change most likely some before they actually get into the stores. Early buyers (preorder) are gonna pay more I'm thinking. These people probably won't care though.

Now you might want to note the "Battlefield 4 game included, limited offer" text since you keep claiming this is the final price of the 290x.

But how would that support desperate attempts to bring down AMD?

I'm willing to spend $400. Looks like I'm going ps4. It's been fun pc but not $800 fun.

why wouldn't you just pick up a used 780 or something? Surely that is better than PS 4? No doubt you caould get one sub $500 soon. If you are just saying in the name of complaining I hear ya but if you're serious I think you're crazy

If I remember correctly, he actually already has a 7950. No real need to upgrade anyway. I'm leaning towards just wanting to complain.

Just because new cards come out, doesn't mean you have to upgrade ...

Thinking back, that may have been Texashiker. But can you blame me for mixing up the two names?

Screw that noise. I'll wait until it's in the $400's. I refuse to pay 50% + higher prices than we've traditionally paid for top shelf cards.

Lets consider top tier cards of 2003:

The NVIDIA GeForceFX 5900 Ultra was $499 when it was released in May 2003 and it competed with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro at the same price point.

Withinflation is considered, the $499 from 2003 has the same buying power as ~$620 today. $700 today is equivalent to the purchasing power of ~$565 in 2003 and $600 would equate to ~$485 respectively. Maybe you should learn something about economics...

The GTX 280 was $650 when released in June 2008.

Stuff like this is why I decided on the 7950. Buying cards while they're on clearance makes for such a great bang for the buck.

Look on anything else than GPUs. And you notice it only became cheaper.

Spoke to my guy at ncix.com who turned me on to accurate numbers on Titan and 780 pricing pre-launch. No stores know pricing yet as they haven't heard from AMD, so these 'prices' are meaningless.
