Hi again guys.

I was able to reproduce the error at stock CPU.

This changes all assumptions.

Does anyone know if AMD's XDMA implementation is point-to-point or broadcast? If it is the former than the Tri (stable) vs Quad (unstable) could be a bandwidth issue.

Karlitos, do you have access to an IB-E cpu to try out? The issue more than likely lies with AMD's XDMA implementation and/or drivers, but it would nice to rule out SB-E's lack of official PCIe 3 support.

I love Nvidia, and I had a GTX 780 watercooled and one of my favorite card it was. I just wished I could get a GTX 780 ti for 575$ instead of 725$. I would get 4 right away. But right now I have 4 x 290x with blocks, backplates, blocks are colored modified and I have fujypoly ultre thermal pads on them. Its hard to make the switch

Also, AMD scaling is better with more cards.

Plus if you go NV alatar will have already won.

Bro careful if u are getting GTX 780 than u are limited to 3 way sli u cannot do quad sli.Only GTX 780TI and Titan are supported for 4 way sli

No he replicated it at stock as well, seems to be an issue with his Quad Fire, could be MB or CPU related, as there were reports of X58 not liking Hawaii either, so it does not surprise me if there are quad fire issues.

Karlitos, I would sell the cards with waterblocks, people would buy that asap.. and then grab 4x 780 ti for your high res gaming.

I don't think I'd sidegrade depending on the games you play since AMD multi card has better scaling in general. The gains may not be very large.

Are there any reviews on 4x 290x vs. 4x 780 ti?

Of course now is the best time to get rid of AMD cards, they value has only risen since launch.

Yes, I have the same hypothesis in mind. But what I don't get is why I ccould run my Quad HD 7970 at 1250/1625 mhz 24/7 with CPU at 4.6Ghz and Memory at 2133Mhz but I can't run the Quad R9 290x at stock and with 4.1 Ghz CPU and 1333Mhz Ram.

Its also funny that I can run CPU and Mem at stock with Quad 24/7.

I will do more testings today.

Try picking up some powered risers to test this theory.

Between the holidays, the vacation, and the continual ordering of more parts, I have ran into some delays with my build. Being my first custom loop, picking all the required parts was a pain. Grr Fittings! I will hopefully have a fully configured rig by this weekend and should provide some updates then

I found someone with the same issue as me with Quad 290x. Actually it's a PC enthousiast I've been meeting in the overclocking forums and community a couple of time. His name is Kaapstad : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18566653 .

At the end of the thread he mentions that he will be trying a i7 4930k to see if it handles the Quad 290x better.

I did some light benching today for a friend. I did a Heaven run at 1440p and one at 1080p

1440p : CPU @ 4.6 Ghz and Mem @ 2133 Mhz / GPU at 1101/1450
1080p: CPU @ 4.6 Ghz and Mem @ 2133 Mhz / GPU at 1140/1450

I get 4900 with two 780Tis. Something is wrong.

I never had a 900D, I decided to keep the 800D since it fills all my need . I prefer my case than the 900D. I take care of my stuff and this case still looks brand new, now scratch and no dust.

Hi, I did everything myself. The things I used to do those stickers are some cut logos from the Sapphire R9 290x BF4 Edition Boxes, cut them and designed them with a Xacto. Then I cut a plexi piece of a size bigger than the card board logo and put vinyl on the plexi. Then I glued the logo on the plexi pieces. Looks very professionnal.

Looked like this at the end. There are 4 pieces of plexi on the cover. The cover itself and one plexi piece per card board sticker.

Ok, I'll see what we can do. We're building thhis system to play 4k games on a 4k projector, like sony 1100. That's why we think that we'll fully use this horsepower!

Okay so I have installed my 4930k in. It fix one of my issue with QuadFire. But I have another issue remaining. I have been trying to find it for almost 2 months now and I am lost.... completly.

I can run:
-QuadFire R9 290x on 1440p Panels via DVI
-Or each card individually in eyefinity 3 x 1440p (2 x DVI and 1 x display Port)

BUT
I cannot run CrossFire / Trifire or QuadFire in eyefinity, or I can't even with the display port output but its fine with the DVI outputs

Conclusion: Display Port output + CrossFire : Doesn't work.

I really don't know why, I have tried all of the drivers.

I am using that dongle on the Display Port monitor

I know its not the dongle (adapter) because I have tried two, I have tried them on each monitor and also Eyefinity works on single card. But when I try to run a game using eyefinity or a single monitor vis the display Port output of the card, the monitors start flickering like if the display port is loosing signal.

I'm really tired of testing everything and trying everything I have in mind.

This is a real pain. I know Accell makes proper spec DP adapters and cables. Also, DP does work for Eyefinity. Until the R9 series it was required. I feel for you.

Maybe if you PM Warsam71 he might be able to help with the troubleshooting?
