Hey Wermad, I'm pretty good. :awe:

My eyefinity setup is great. Since I bought the 4k monitor (Samsung U28D590D) as center monitor to replace my third DVI monitor (that I had problems with DVI to DP adapter), I'm having no issues at all. I can play eyefinity at 7680x1440 (8024x1440) with no problem and also beneficiate of the 3840x2160 panel if I want.

I recently moved (last Saturday) and I moved from my condo to a house (finally). I just finished doing my bunker/man cave/desktop and its awsome. Only problem is that my rig is in the basement and the basement only has A SINGLE 15 AMP breaker for the whole level.

Yesterday I started playing Grid Autosport with eyefinity and my Quad 290x and noticed the lights were dimming. My PC room has 5 x 50W lights in it and I noticed on my Kill-A-Watt that my whole setup (including monitors speakers and LEDs lights on walls) was pulling 1500watts and this was with cards at stock and 4930k @ 4.5 Ghz.

Total watts:
Lights: 5 x 50w = 250w
Full PC: 1500watts

This gives 1750watts on a 15 AMP breaker which is 1800watts (@ 120v).

So was playing then... my girlfriend started the central vacuum cleaner and guess watt?

The freakin breaker tripped

SOOO next mod is add a 20 AMP circuit dedicated for my rig only. I already haver the breaker, the 12 guage wire and the 20 amp wall plug.

Check my new bunker (Need to paint the house)

KaRLiToS: Since you work for the Power Company, can't you arrange to install a sub-station next to you house? THAT should give you all the power you need for your UBER rig!

Seriously that sammy screen is hard to forget.
Had a customer buy it with profit off me and I decided to wait for a couple of months until the seiki 32in 4k comes and get three of them for glorious eyefinity at 12k.
That the plan at least.... Couldn't wait 2 weeks and I ordered a new sammy with a vesa stand for my koreans.

Gaming with this setup is perfect... Eyefinity when enabled and 4k when you run into compatibility issues.

I'm moving back into my house in Cincinnati. Before doing so I had an electrician come out and put in a dedicated 20 amp circuit on just the one outlet my computer is going to be connected to.

Only cost $275 to get the line run through the walls and everything wired up to the breaker box. Now I won't have to worry about the breaker tripping when my wife runs her hair dryer.

I'm also getting black granite tile installed in that computer room. Should be really nice by the time I get back.

Pfft... You yankes and your puny 110v lines... The old world is running on 220v!
Never had a breaker trip on me and doing crazy stuff on three oc pcs at the same time in one room!

You ever try sticking a fork in a 220v? Holy **** that will short your pants.

Technically 110V lines have to be much more 'durable' than 230V lines. Each watt on 110v line requires 2 times more amps than on 230v line. And since the amperage is what kills the breakers or burns cables - 110v lines need to be much better quality than 230V equivalents

Yea single 15 amp won't cut it on that rig with much else on the line. Only want to be using about 80% of the capacity (1440w) if the load will run for any extended period of time. 20amp will be nice.

Is the line run going to be easy? I've considered dropping a 20amp line, but have never run wire before. My breaker box has plenty of room for additional 15/20 amp lines, but i'd have to run at least 50ft.

Is it possible to double up the voltage from 110 to 220v? How hard is it to add a 200v line to a standard 110 house? From what I recall 200v is superior for a PC PSU, can also be used to charge an electric car. Is there such a thing as a 15-20 amp 200v line?

Of course there is. Every house with a clothes dryer have a 30A 240V line for example.

You can make anything you want 240V. It's just a matter of using the proper wire and wiring it correctly at the breaker box. Instead of 1 hot (120V) 1 neutral 1 ground, you run 2 hot 1 gound (120V * 2).

14.9 Not working properly on my rig with windows 8.1

Too bad! I had a heck of a time installing them on my rig. I finally downloaded the AMD uninstall utility and let it run. When it cleared all the previous AMD drivers out, I installed the 14.9 drivers and they worked.

Google AMD uninstall utility.

3dMarkFirestrike Ultra

Since I can't use 14.9 validated drivers, I could only use 14.4 whql. With drivers 14.9.1, I get well over 9000 with my CPU at 4.8Ghz, Ram at 2400mhz and cards at 1240/1550

I'm tired of Hawaii, I need 20nm.

HALL OF FAME
MY SCORE

1360MHz boost is fine (1240MHz base). It's what I run the cards at 24/7. The CPU is also only at 4.0GHz. I bench with my everyday settings.

My Lepa G 1600 is limiting my OC. Hawaii pull so much current that my 30amps per 12v rail is limiting my OC on the cards. Good thing I have a EVGA supernova 1000w for two other cards.

I hope AMD will have something good with 20nm.

How is the 5960x Adam? Is it really worth it outside of benchies?

I don't know if it's worth it per se. I bought it simply because it's the fastest and that's how I roll.

Give me money. :'(

Nice scores there both of you. Are the 980s all they are chalked up to be? Most reviews have them neck-and-neck with a 7990. I could buy another 280x and PSU and match that for cheaper but some people are saying the new drivers and massive overclocks are pushing them far past other cards.
