Radeon SE (Ultra) card???

Looks like there may soon be yet another Radeon to confuse with the other models. The SE is an "Ultra" type card.

Here is a link to the article. Its a Chinese site with a babelfish translation. This is the same site that first had the news on the LE card.

But, since oc'ing Radeons don't do much, wonder how much faster this sucker is?

ATI really needs to work on its PR and Marketing department. The LE is the "low end" radeon, the VE is the dual head crippled Radeon, and the SE is the "ultra" radeon. THEY NEED NEW NAMES!
I'm not saying that it is confusing to me, I understand it perfectly well. However, the average consumer, and lots of people, (there was a thread on rage3d.com) do not understand the differences between the LE and VE, and now there is a SE! Oh well.....

Just to play devils advocate since its not yet on ATI's webpage, i must say it looks like a fake to me, Why would ATI use an &quot;Nvidia Green&quot; fan? Looks a lot like the fan off the GF3, and the date on the card is 2000, shouldnt it be 2001?

Seriously though, the guy is a hypocrite. Anybody that tells the truth about the many problems that Nvidia cards have is labeled a troll by him, but he can go around crapping on other threads about other cards and it's aparently ok. When he tried to say I was trolling in that other thread, and he started re-posting remarks I made about Nvidia's 2d, I decided to turn the tables on him and search for his comments. Not suprisingly, I found thread after thread on the Radeon (a card which he has never owned btw), and he was always crapping in the threads, making some sort of stupid remark or cheap troll comment. Again, we are talking about a card he has never owned, and never had any experience with. I think we know who the real troll is now, don't we LEON.

First, I was accusing of being 3dfx zombie and big NVIDIA hater , and now we have this...

So, Hue, who am I really? NVIDIA zealot? Matrox zealot? 3dfx zealot (have V3 in my primiary system, since my G400 crapped out on me).

Well if it comes in at these speeds it will be faster than a Pro but maybe a little short of the Ultra. I am just basing my estimates on viewing overclocking numbers of the Radeon from a few sites. As long as they continue to work at putting forth better drivers the Radeon can and will give Nvidia a run for its money. The only question is how much will it cost. If they bring it to the market at $329 or less, I believe it will do very well. Anything more than that and they're sunk, especially since the entire Geforce line will be dropping in price with the GF3 coming to market. The Radeon core is more impressive than the Geforce line except GF3. Maybe this will allow them be able to run with nvidia in the speeed department as well. I think its a good move. And let me add one more thing,the sooner they release it the better. 2 months from now will not be good. I think they better be ready for the release in 2-3 weeks. Timing is everything because once the GF3 is available in large numbers, despite its price it will sell. I think ATi needs to take advantage of the in between lull and get the product to the shelves as quick as possible.

I have had lots of problems with Nvidia products and have never tried to hide it. I have said many bad things about them too. I guess I am just a bad person for not wearing my Nvidia underwear or sleeping on my Nvidia sheets and pillowcases.
