The Antec 430W has been ordered. i think that i'm going to wait for the PSU to come back before shipping the RAM out, but i might change my mind. I will post another message in this thread as soon as i get my PSU in the mail with my RAM in-hand. Hopefully this PSU does the trick.

Thanks

If you tell him just to go out a get new mem... your possibly wasting his money ... and the errors will still occur
Noid, he suggested using an RMA option to get new free RAM.

I suggest teach him what BIOS is ...
I know what BIOS is:: i was only suggesting for you to specify what variables you wanted me to give you the values of.

But then again ... the BIOS seems to no concern to you either.
I've already reverted to fail-safe settings twice and "LEFT IT THERE" as you so sardonically suggested. From responses on this board and on others (friends), i have gathered that getting a new PSU would be benefical and would have a good possibility of fixing my problem.

Just in case, i have ordered to exchange my ram for new free sticks at crucial -- she said they will definetly be new, not refurbished.

unbelievable. i really think that i am going to claw my eyeballs out. new ram. new PSU. computer is Alot faster now with the new ram. i can get into windows now, i can get to the desktop, and do some stuff with no crashing. but suddenly when i rapidly resize a window from the corner or load up the desktop settings page a few times, i get an IEXPLORE error, and that a log is being created.

so i figure, ok, software problem, i will just reinstall windows again. i can still do stuff after i get this error btw. so i put in the win2k cd so i can reinstall. cd in, autorun makes window come up. i click "Install windows 2000" and BOOM pc just reboots out of nowhere!!

what now!? defective card? any ideas? thanks

bump ... i've reinstalled windows since just for kicks to see if it would fix it (since i was also getting a corrupt file error when booting windows sometimes ... which it didn't). no more corrupt file, but when i quickly resize a window from a corner, i get an auto-crash. please let me know if you have any ideas you can offer. thanks

Help,
I have a same type of problem. Running an ABIT KR7A-133R, 2 sticks of Crucial DDR 2100 256 Meg, AIW Radeon, Sound Blaster Live value, 3 ea Western Digital Hard drives, two CD drives, and an Enermax 330 watt. My system will usually boot, then reboots within 1 minute. Some times it just gives the blue screen and starts a phsical memeory dump. If it makes it to Explorer it gives and explorer error message and locks down. Then if it reboots or I do if it locks down the system runs fine until it is shut down. Does it every time i always have to double boot. This system did the same thing even when I only had one hard drive. I was told by folks at the local computer store that it was probably a problem related to AIW and the VIA chip set, does this make since. I have the most current drivers for the ATI and have flashed the Mother Board with the latest BIOS.

Help!!!

You might want to start a new thread. Get more people looking at it. Basically, you need to troubleshoot your machine step by step. Eliminate variables one thing at a time. Will the machine run in Safe Mode? Remove one stick of ram, then the other. Take all peripherals out until you nail down the problem.
