Take a look at that "Palm Sized 200 Channel Radio Scanner" as well, one of the best deals in the bunch. It's a Pro-83, well reviewed on the scanner boards, regularly $119. Not compatible with trunked or digital systems but a very good basic scanner if you're interested in such things.

Yeap thats what im jumping on.. since im a loyal scanner user since 1990 .. $59.99 for a pocket scanner is nice indeed

It all depends, if your city has apco25 it will do no good cause the Pro-83 is not a Digital scanner. Although not every agency is digital, it all depends where you reside.

Im on L.A and LAPD is Apco25 and for me to monitor them i use a Pro-96, but those sell at RS for $499.99 + tax. I bought mine from Egay for $120.00 from someone who thought it was a non-working unit. I took my chances and purchase it, opened it and found the obvious problem which was something that needed to be soldered, and presto.. it worked and has been working for more then a year.

The Pro-83 is a nice little unit that can work just fine if your local PD is analog.

Woah, that actually sounds pretty hot. With no reviews it is hard to tell if it will actually play the media/codecs I have lying around, but for $20 this is a pretty hot deal even if it is just really small and plays my dvd's, and maybe one of my video files.

I hope I manage to pick one up, since I'll probably be waiting in line at another store before this one... too many hard decisions.

Bought one of the dvd players - haven't had a chance to hook it up yet to try. Was shot down on trying to use the Entertainment Book coupon. Manager said they were not accepting coupons during the special sale.

I picked up the MP3 player. It rang up at $29.99 (which should be the price after MIR), but a $10 MIR is mentioned on the receipt. I thought I saw the register spit one out, but the cashier didn't give it to me. Any chance I can find a copy online and mail it in?

I don't know if I'd go that far, but yeah... after about 15 minutes of playing around with it this morning, I can't say that it has impressed me.

Maybe not entirely fair. It did play my VCD's and SVCD's very well, which is more than I can say more my current player, but that information found above that it supports MPEG4 and DIVX is 100% false after some extensive testing. Pretty obviously false from the packaging and all other available information anyway.

Oh well, what you get for trying to get something for nothing. I guess I'll probably just return it after the weekend when I got some time, as I took great care in unpacking it.

Blazing hot! When I went to the store, they had a printout of the "per customer" limits on each deal. The 50pk Ridata CD-R is limit 6 (300 CD-Rs total). The register printed out 6 separate rebate forms which have to be mailed in separately.

The rebate form says "one per customer", but the store manager assured me that for today's 6am-Noon sale this limit is not applicable. I sure hope that she is right

I got a Ridata 50pk CDRs. Rang up as $12.99 here in LA, $14.06 after tax. Rebate is for $15! After tax and stamps, make $0.57 cents back baby!

gedman - I think that 6-rebates is kinda risky when the form states "one per customer". Did you get a hard copy of the manager customer limits?

The MP3 player is here but OOS on the website. It's a generic USB stick MP3. The Rebate is available there too, so I'm going to send it in.

It looks like I got lucky as others are reporting that theirs rang up at the correct price of $39.99. I'm heading back there now to see if I can snag another for $29.99.

Good news (for me) and bad news. The news is I got it for $29.99, but the bad news is it originally rang up at $39.99. After I had the salesman check the price I told him I didn't want it because I got lucky that morning and wanted to see if it happened again. I took a few steps towards the door and he said "well, I could sell it to you for that if you want." Sure!

I guess it's good news that it rang up for $39.99 at all because it was suppose to be a 6 hour sale.
