I was surprised they didn't drive the rescued car back and have some fun with the two of them on the ice. Maybe they only had one controller?
They already make FPV goggles. http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__539__543__FPV_Telemetry-Goggles.html
The structural skin on light aircraft is .032 in most cases. Those wheels are formed from 'O' condition metal and heat treated. You would be amazed at how tough it is at T6.Good, hopefully we'll get a litter of little ones, and then maybe send Spirit a tow truck and maintenance bot, and some new wheels for the Mars Science Lab.
(0.050" aluminum for the contact surfaces of the wheels for something that's driving over rocky terrain?!? 0.050" aluminum sheet is used on a lot of products at work, but they're very lightweight products. It's also used because it's easy to puncture to permit conduit hookup and mounting during installation.)
What the fuck kind of setups do these guys have holy shit. I cannot believe I watched 7 minutes of that.
Not sure what it takes now but used to be a very expensive hobby. I remember seeing a large RC Dune buggy that the owner said was capable of pulling a Honda Civic.
