Are you serious? When was the last time you listened to Kid A? Amnesiac can be semi-comparable to Kid A but not Hail to the Thief. Have you heard the new album yet? Regardless, Kid A was one of their best.Originally posted by: yukichigai
I think I will indeed pick up this album, particularly at the low price it's being offered at. But I still have some issues with it. It's a great album, truth be told, but it sounds too much like the past 2 albums. One of the cooler things about Radiohead, which my friend pointed out to me, was that each album used to be a different sound. This album sounds like Kid A to me (my friend coined the nickname Kid C for this album) Not that I'm not gonna buy it.
Awwww, then why don't you go salute the flag a few times and flip on FoxNews instead. Artists (and everyone else in this country) is free to say whatever they wanna say. If you don't like it, F-Off and STFU. Nobody gives a rat's ass. And by the way, your justification for "ripping off" the artists is so lame I don't even know where to begin...

Dude, hate to say it but you are WAY out of line. All the dude said was that they were getting too political for him, he didn't say anything about trying to force his views on them or taking away their freedom to speak or sing as they will. Like so many other Americans you are AWFULLY reactionary. Try to relax a bit, maybe switch to decaf, eh?

I'm not sure why you feel the need to defend him considering he basically: (1.) Thread-crapped based on his political views, and then (2.) Recommended illegally downloading MP3s, or to quote "...so I guess it's ripping off the Internet for me..." WillDeStijl's logic is a little flawed right off the bat, considering if he hates Radiohead so much, why is he downloading their MP3s?

Agreed. It's not really an issue of whether or not they have the freedom to say what they want -- they do. It's just the drivel that their spouting is not what I'm going to pay to hear (though that doesn't mean you should download it either).I love Radiohead as artists, but they're getting too politically vocal for me. I oppose their views, and there fame gives them a mouthpiece to voice those crazy views.

Yesterday was a beautiful day in music for me. I picked up the new Radiohead and Grandaddy albums, and I got to see the Flaming Lips perform last night.
As for downloading copyrighted music, I buy anything that is worthwhile to add to my collection. Generally, that means anything that is listenable beyond
a 2-3 year standard radio-play shelf-life. There is an amazing amount of corporate radio schlock, er popular music, that never makes it beyond a download (and delete).
