DeepDiscountCD.com has the limited edition version for $12.89 shipped. AFAIK they are the same CD except with different packaging.

I love Radiohead as artists, but they're getting too politically vocal for me. I oppose their views, and there fame gives them a mouthpiece to voice those crazy views, so I guess it's ripping off the Internet for me :|

Are artists supposed to be apolitical? Even if you disagree with their views and are unwilling to consider the veracity of their positions, shouldn't you at least respect their willingness to lose money for something that they believe in?

Awwww, then why don't you go salute the flag a few times and flip on FoxNews instead. Artists (and everyone else in this country) is free to say whatever they wanna say. If you don't like it, F-Off and STFU. Nobody gives a rat's ass. And by the way, your justification for "ripping off" the artists is so lame I don't even know where to begin...

You people crack me up! So, you're telling me that you've all got only legit software and music on your PCs. What a bunch of hypocrites!

And, in case you haven't realized, both parties are majorly ****ed so you're getting screwed no matter who you vote for. None of them give a crap about you or this country and only do things that benefit themselves, whether it's a hummer in the oval office or kickbacks from oil companies. I just think it's funny when people really think they know what's going on because they watch CNN or Fox News or the BBC.

As for Radiohead, who cares what that cs'er Thom Yorke says (if you can even make out the lyrics), their music has always been amazing and I'm sure this next album will be more of the same. Thanks for the heads up DanJ!

if you don't support our American dictator, then that must mean you support the Iraqi dictator.

the track listing is the same for both, which imo would really be the most important difference

If this new one is as boring as Ok Computer I might buy it. Radio Head makes great music to fall a sleep to.

Well he is allowed to voice his oppinion as well, be it right or wrong. He certainly does not need to F-Off or STFU.

I love Radiohead, but this new album is painfully bad, musically and politically.

$8.99 is a great deal though

I like the new album. Takes a little getting used to but it starts to grow on ya. Hopefully they'll hit my city on the next tour to the States.

And is Thom Yorke sporting a mini-mullet on the cover of Spin magazine?

I have been listening to the new album for the last two weeks and they have become way to techno for me. Please bring back the days of the Bends.

let me break it down for you:
step 1: consumers in free country w/ freedom of choice/speech(CIFCWFOCS) enjoy artist A's music
step 2: CIFCWFOCS pay $$ to artist A for CD's, posters, concert tickets etc
step 3: artist A becomes loaded w/ da Bling Bling
step 4: artist A excersizes their right to speak freely by using their fame/fortune provided by CIFCWFOCS as mouthpiece
step 5: CIFCWFOCS enjoy music, but have convinctions that run counter to artist's free choice, and CHOOSE to NOT FUND THAT ANYMORE!
<here's where things get whacked IMO>
step 6: ?!? CIFCWFOCS are criticized for restricting(wtf?) artist A's freedom of speech!?

look folks, I have just as much freedom of speech as Thom Yorke, The Dixie Pricks or anyone else. Some Nazi whacko can rant and rave all day on his website, but that doesn't mean I have to PAY him to get up on stage and appear in the News ranting and raving! (for the simple minded: of course I don't mean Thom or anyone's a Nazi, just making a point)

P.S. um, ignore that comment about stealing music off the Internet That's a different issue, and I'm rather conflicted on it. No, I haven't downloaded this album, and don't plan to.

I think I will indeed pick up this album, particularly at the low price it's being offered at. But I still have some issues with it. It's a great album, truth be told, but it sounds too much like the past 2 albums. One of the cooler things about Radiohead, which my friend pointed out to me, was that each album used to be a different sound. This album sounds like Kid A to me (my friend coined the nickname Kid C for this album) Not that I'm not gonna buy it.

I hit BB on the lunch break so I picked up the regular version for me at $9.99 and the limited edition at $12.99 for my brother. My brother loves them and I enjoy them, but they aren't my absolute favorite. IMHO the Bends and OK Computer are their best albums.

the limited edition has 'special packaging', correct? can anyone go into detail? is it a tin case? a big ass booklet? enquiring minds want to know

I'll second this one! When a band starts to think of themselves as more artist than musicians, the slide into oblivion begins.

how do you know what they think of themselves as? do you remember when OK computer came out and all the media attention radiohead got, they exploded, things like "this is the band that will save rock" were said all over the place. As one of the band members has said "that's a total mind fvck", and I don't doubt it. What did they proceed to do? their label wanted another OK computer I can assure you instead they did what they wanted. I like the new album better than kid A and amnesiac, recommended.
