Ditto. I do love stuff off Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, but not to the level that I like the pre-Kid A output. Funnily enough, I seem to like Yorke's solo album better than HTTT and Amnesiac.

media today is quite a dissapointment, with the internet, radio, television and newspaper you would think that there would be a plethora of new information and news. Instead I get in the car today, hear about this on NPR, get to work and see it on anandtech and then go to digg.com and see it there, it is a crap news generation folks, enjoy.

I am the same way. the new stuff feels like they are trying to hard to be cutting edge.

No radiohead has decided to take an anti PR apporach for their albums. TVs and newspapers never really adevrtised new albums anyways...unless it was a backstreet boys album.

It really does matter anyways because Radiohead is at the point of their careers where they can release an album full of farts and still have it be known as genius.

I can't wait to hear this new album. Radiohead is one of the few bands that I have respect for these days.

I think its kinda dumb though that they are trying to act all anti-record company. They are of course doing it now because of their success, but I sure as hell know they had to be singing a different tune before they became famous. Same goes for other bands that are now huge and decide to go against record companies.

They talked about the new album on Morning Joe on MSNBC a little bit this morning, I thought that was kind of cool.

The box set is priced in pounds (49 I think). I've been told a good rule of thumb on how to estimate prices in the UK is to take the price in the US (in USD) and substitute a pound sign for the dollar sign (basically, what it costs in dollars here it costs in pounds there). That might be why it costs $80 in the US.

wtf?

the exchange rate is 2:1 (2 US dollars to 1 british pound). the box set is 40 pounds -> $80

but thats not how it works for many products

The brits get screwed for pricing.

The same is true especially for canada, or any country that has VAT for that matter.

depends on what you mean by 'screwed'. that money does go to pay for things.

Even at that, they probably still get more money out of it than they would from a $14.99 major label album sale. Or a $9.99 iTunes albums sale.

Good point. I will probably pay $10 for the download, and will also buy the CD once it's available. Hopefully the second disc will also be available, since it includes some songs I really like.

And that's partly why I did it. I like this model. I'm just not exactly a radiohead fan, heh

I've been emailing back and forth with the site people...they charged my card for the discbox, but have no record of my order.

I'm pissed.
