Local Radio Crap didnt have any, surprise, surprise but I got the guy to check other stores and he said the one about 15 min away had 5!

Got there, they had 2 so I got em both! 40% right for a RS around here is excellent. Now to explore JP1 (always thought that was jet fuel)

Anyway, Thanks for the heads up.

The sales guy showed me several other universal remotes and avoided telling me about the 15-2104. I saw it and snagged it. Glad I drove by the mall today.

I don't know why they leave out mentioning that it's a fully capable learning remote. A while back, I chose the 15-2103 (5 in 1) over this one because the 15-2104 only advertised 4 learning, "smart" buttons. But it indeed can take learning functions on almost all buttons, including macros. Plus the JP1 header if you're so inclined.

The only thing I don't like about the 2104 is that the big "+" buttons for volume and channel aren't as responsive as the 2103 - you have to push them down and then some to get the signal to be sent. The rest of the buttons on the 2104 are fine...a light push does the job. I thought it was just the one I had, but tried a few other 2104s and it was the same thing.

I picked up this remote, and I love the feel and look. Problem is, I cannot get a couple of my five devices to function properly, if at all. My receiver, Kenwood VR-407, works slightly with code 1313. However, I cannot get it to go to Video3, which is where my DVD player is hooked up to. The number keys on the remote go to various devices on the receiver, but Video3 is not one of them, nor is Tape. My other problem is my Sony 5-disc CD-player, Sony CDP-CE525. It does not have a power button on the Sony remote. The original remote has all other controls besides power. I plug it into the rear of my receiver so it powers on at the same time. I tried all of the Sony codes, but none of them worked. I would love to keep this remote but not if it doesn't work to my liking. Where can I find solutions? Will calling the phone# listed in the manual help me?

Start at www.hifi-remote.com. You'll find an improved manual on the remote, and plenty of information on how to add functions to your remote. You'll find advanced code lists for your device, such as the code to select input 3, and the manual will tell you how to assign this code to a remote button.

Finally figured out the learn function...... This remote is outstanding for 9.97! I paid 15.99 at walmart for a dum non-backlighted RCA remote 2 years ago.

For those you haven't figured it out here are the steps to learn any key except (6 device keys, 4 macro keys, and power)

1. Press and hold the P button until it flashes red led twice.
2. Press numbers 975 to activate learn function
3. Choose the device key this will apply to ie:VCR, CD, TV etc....
4. Press the desired key you wish to program ie: Menu key or last button.... IF YOU HAVE DONE IT CORRECT THE REMOTE should now flash red very quickly (it is trying to learn ...)
5. Place the sending remote 2 inches from the 2104 IR and press the key of the desired function you want ie: INPUT Select. If the signal is received correctly it should blink twice to confirm the code has been learned. ( I always do it twice to be sure).
6. To end programming mode press and hold P til it blinks twice again -- Now test your remote.

7. You can add multiple keys by simply pressing the device key after every learned key. Such as VOL UP then vcr key, VOL DOWN then VCR key, Pause...... etc.

For those in VA (maybe DC and MD) there are some 2104's at the Landmark Mall RS (2 stored beneath display case at checkout) and supposedly 10 at the Falls Church RT. 50 store.
