ATi Rage Pro WindowsXP drivers
This is a nice little surprise for all of those old school geeks out there. There are still millions of people running a Rage pro for their video card (many in older computers or high reliability servers)
With the release of WindowsXP, Microsoft have written a brand new set of drivers for the Rage Pro and included it inside of WindowsXP.
The last set of Rage pro drivers from ATi were dated Feb, Oct or Sept of 2000 (over one year ago) and left off supporting DirectX 6.
The new drivers that come with XP will support directX8.1 AND nothing else! (NO openGL, no DVD player, no Multimedia center)
Good or bad, this drastic move will probably give the old chipset a huge boost in speed, reliability, and maybe even visual quality but only in 2D and D3D (for servers and productivity computers)
