Its good and fast and all that, but i'm curious about the stripe size. I recalled some people saying 32kb was optimal, and I did find posts about that. I use an Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.4Ghz on an Abit AV8 system with two 80GB Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 SATA drives. I tend to game (big new ones like CS Source, Doom III, Need For Speed Underground 2) and I also do audio/video editing, which includes capturing video from the DV cameras of relatives to put onto DVDs. However, I game much more often than A/V creation. Is the 32kb stripe size indeed the best I can do? I have time to spare today, and I just thought that perhaps I would ask to see, since searching didn't yield the answer I wanted . I'm also using an XP Pro SP2 CD for XP installations as well.
Is 64kb more ideal, 16kb better, or perhaps it is just fine as it is? Seems pretty quick to me, and I was delighted to have 160GB instead of 80 for only $58 .
