Raid 1 Question

I'm planning on setting up my new system with a disk mirroring system-Raid 1 I think you guys call it.
Not ever having done this before, my first question is just how difficult is this to do?
My other question is concering the hard disks. Must I use two identical hard drives to make this work properly? I'll be using a WD Raptor 75G for my main disk. Do I need a second Raptor, or can I use any other hard drive?

Setting up a RAID 1 can be very simple.If you are using an intergrated motherboard controller, just enble the service in the motherboard's bios. If you install a RAID controller card During the boot process, you will be prompted to set up the arrays.

You don't have to use identical drives but it is best to do so. If you use different size drives the lowest drive will be the max you could use: Example if you have a 120gb and 100gb drive the max space you could use is a 100gb. If you were disk spanning or stripping you would have 220gb for use.
