Raid partition lost?

My setup uses two 160gb maxtor drives on a raid 0 to make a 300gb drive, which was then partitioned down to a 19gb for windows and program installs and a ~280gb for games and misc. files. I installed a game that crashed when I tried to run it, after the crash an icon appeared in the taskbar telling me a file on the windows partition was corrupt, then I received the BSOD for "ntfs.sys". After restarting the computer was very very slow to get to the windows boot screen, then tried to run checkdisk, which fails at random points with the BSOD again. This will keep looping.

I also have a free 60gb drive in there. I installed winxp onto this drive and everything is fine until i install the raid drivers. When i do that the small partition is recognized and works, but the computer soon locks up trying to read the other partition and then I receive the BSOD again.

Is there any way that I can recover this partition of a raid array? I have found some programs that can possibly image it to another drive, but I don't have a 300gb hd available for this. Thanks

Is the RAID drive full of valuable stuff? Partitions on RAID can be tricky. You might try redoing it, though you would lose all your data. Also, never stop checkdisk, even if it does loop forever. Once, my 400g RAID drive took like 12 hrs. to finish chkdsk, but it fixed the problems. Oh, and what do you mean by looping? Restarting completely, or running a certain portion over and over again? In any case, let it be, and see if it will ever stop. Good luck, and merry Christmas!

IF you are lucky, you might be able to ghost each drive on the RAID0, format the drive, restore the image onto the drives, use the same settings for raid you had before, and hey presto.
On the other hand, santa might come down the chimney and pop you on the nose for losing data to RAID0.

By looping I meant it would go into checkdisk, make it to the end or about 90+% of step 5, then it would get bsod and auto restart (I hadn't turned off that option), it would go back to checkdisk, say the disk was cleared and still couldn't start, BSOD, reboot, run checkdisk from the beginning again...etc. etc.

I don't have enough space to be able to ghost, so i decided to just start from scratch and lose everything. Nothing of real value was on there, I might have once had a fair share of data which may not have been exactly legal, but now any of that is gone. Thanks for the advice. Any ideas on what would have caused a problem like this and what the real cause would have been, seemed to be something with the one partition.
