RAID Partitioning?

Please forgive the ignorance - never actually had hands-on with any IDE RAID stuff yet, and want to buy the right stuff initially..

If I want to do RAID 0 with 2 30GB hdds of matching specs/brands, can i still partition them in 3 10gig partitions each, in other words 2 physical devices (the computer sees a total of 30GB..) with 3 logical divisions (and separate drive letters..) Is this a no-brainer, SOP type stuff?

Any enlightenment would help me out, Thanks!

Assuming you intend to use RAID 1 (mirroring), yes, it will be the same as if you had one drive when partitioning. IF you were to use striping or spanning, you would have 60GB's to work with, but no redundancy.

Yes. It doesn't matter if you use RAID or not. For the operating system, it appears as a single drive. It can be partitioned in any way you want.
