raid problems...

hi i have a msi neo4 platinum on sli. i just hooked up 2 sata on silicon image but i cant see them on windows under "my computer" what is happening???? i can see them on the silicon image configuration utility but not in my computer.

So you boot from a different drive?

You need to go to computer management and then to disk management and create partitions on the RAID array and also be sure to install the drivers for the Silicon Image chip.

i know that i need to initialize but convert option is something about dynamic disks what is that?? do i need it?

You will want to "Initialize" this will enable you to "format" the space on the RAID. You do NOT! want to use "convert to dynamic disks"

After you "Initialize" it then you'll have to "format" in the disk management tool.

Right click on My Computer>Manage>Storage>Disk Management>Right click the drive & format.

ok i did that BUT i cant see my drives in the upper window where i can formatted them, i see them in the lower one and my 2 drives are: online but unlocated... what can i do now??? i cant c them either in my computer...

If you can see them in the lower window in the Disk Management tool then you can format them by right clicking on the "unallocated" space and telling it to format. Once formatted it should appear in the upper window as well as Windows Explorer.
