You are obviously partitioning a raid configuration. First you need to make a primary partition. This can be expressed in percetage on the total allocation of the hdd. If you plan on making a logical or extended drives (which means you will have more than 1 designated drive to the raid configuration) then you will have to designate less than 100 percent for the primary partition. If you do not plan on making more than one drive to the raid configuration, then designate 100 percent of the raid configuration and you do not have to worry about logical or extended drives.

You're mixing terms and not giving enough info here.
First of all: how many disks will you use for that RAID? I'm assuming from the terms you used that you're running windows. I will also assume you have 2 disks you want to use for this purpose. I am also assuming you want only one drive letter for this setup.
My suggestion would be to not create a RAID 0 since one disk failure will loose you all the data.
Instead I suggest you make two "primary" partitions on those 2 disks, mount one disk as a separate drive letter and the second disk as a folder in the first disk. You will be asked this when you click "Format" in disk manager.
"Logical" option is grayed since you don't yet have an extended partition.

yes i am using 2 drives and i dont care much about failure because i have an external hard drive as a back up. I want to have only one letter for this set up. So do i have to o format , primary or extentend? Logical at this time is not an option is there a problem with that?? from i understtod i have to format primary 100%... right??

RAID 0 is what you want since you're not worried about fault tolerance. I would recommend a single large drive over two small RAIDed drives. I would also contend that RAID 0 is silly for media storage purposes in a single user environment.

If you just want a large drive, then use JBOD. If you want increased chances of data loss, then use RAID 0.

Most likely when you set up for JBOD/RAID, the controller will do its own formatting thing. But if it makes you feel better, format the drives as primary in the meantime.
