I downloaded the OROM 11.6.0.1702 (>Especially modified Intel RST(e) RAID ROM v11.6.0.1702 with TRIM in RAID0 for P67 and Z68 systems<) from win-raid.com and change the 0001BB20 following hex code of OROM as: 04 1C 00 00 07
Welcome at AnandTech Forum and thanks for your report.

Unfortunately, didn't work for me. Board booted into BIOS fine first time around as the chipset was toggled in Compatability mode. Once I flipped it to RAID mode it would hang on a blinking cursor once it got to the OROM.

This is a known problem and the solution is to disable or enable your marvel controller. User sinders discovered that in order for his Intel OROM screen to be working or to bypass it so it will boot he had to DISABLE his Marvel controller. For what ever reason I had to enable it and put it into AHCI mode even though I do not use it.

Both boards are running great with TRIM. We just can not use the Marvel for what ever reason. I have never used that controller so it does not affect me and I have not tried connecting anything to it to see if it works, lol... Anyway, this problem you have is super easy to bypass.

I tried disabling both my Marvel and JMicron controllers to no effect

I am new to the forum, I would like to thank Dufus and Fernando to tell the secret regarding implementation of RAID0 TRIM on Intel 6-series chipset. I am using Gigabyte H67M-D2-B3 Ver1 motherboard which is H67 chipset.

That means alternate ID 1C04 LPC ID 0000 Flags 07

Now I get H67 working with RAID0 TRIM.

The array:
OCZ -VERTEX4 128G
Crucial M4 128G

Hello
Im new here. Thanks to all the folks here for their hard work on this topic. I also have an H67 chipset board that I would like to enable TRIM and apparently it is possible based on the above post, but unfortunately due to my limited knowledge of the tools and methods that you guys are using, I dont really understand what that guy did. Can someone clarify what I need to do to make the modified OPROM work with H67?
Thanks

I will modify the OROM file for you, but I need the "Alternate DeviceID" of your on-board Intel H67 SATA RAID Controller.
Please run Dufus' SataID Tool (>LINK<) and post the Alternate DeviceID.

Regards
Fernando

Thanks Fernando 1
The mobo isnt actually in a system yet (will be soon) so it will take me a little while to get that info. Will modify this post when I get it!

It will be better, if you write a new post. Otherwise I may miss your modified/edited text.

Ok Fernando 1, I'm going to setup my RAID and install windows soon but I plan to update the BIOS and RST option ROM first. Is it OK to update to the latest version 12.8 option ROM? Will it work or is there any reason that I should use a previous version?

There is no Intel RAID ROM v12.8 available. The latest is v12.7.0.1936 and I am pretty sure, that it will work with your Intel H67 system.

Controller ID 2822
Alternate ID 1C04
I'm using OPROM version 11.6.0.1702. That's what came with the latest BIOS for my mobo so that's what I went with.

Since the Alternate ID of your Intel SATA RAID Controller is 1C04, you can take the already available TRIM modified RAID ROM module named "Intel_RSTe_RAID_ROM_v11.6.0.1702_mod_by_Fernando_for_P67+Z68".
You will get the TRIM in RAID0 feature by simply replacing the currently inserted Intel RAID ROM v11.6.0.1702 of your mainboard BIOS by the modded one.

Thanks for your help Fernando 1.
Im trying to insert the modified OPROM into the BIOS file for my board (which btw, is an Intel board DH67GD) but the process does not seem to work the way you have it laid out in your tutorial, for this BIOS file. It's a EFI BIOS file and the OPROM seems to be embedded in a different manner then the tutorial assumes. Do you have any advice for me?

I am sorry, but I cannot help you to modify your Intel BIOS.
Intel mainboard BIOSes with the extension .BIO are disguised AMI BIOSes and very difficult to modify. As first step you have to convert the .BIO file into an AMI BIOS by a tool named BIO2AMI, but this tool is not easy to get. Furthermore your Antivirus will give alarm, if you should try to download it.
If you want to try it nevertheless, you may look >here<.

Just FYI,
Even BIO2AMI will not open the Intel BIOS file. I tried multiple BIOSs from the H67 chipset and even a file from a different Intel chipset and it just produced an error about there being no AMI BIOS string and its not an AMI BIOS.

Hi,

I have inserted the modded 11.6 rom for X58 and was wondering what is the best intel rst driver for running an array with trim working? Using 11.7 rst now.

Thanks

There are good news for SSD RAID0 users with an old Intel chipset.
It was again Dufus (aka CPL0), who has recently detected a new, simple and safe modification of Intel RAID ROM modules, which definitively enables the TRIM in RAID0 support for Intel 4-Series Chipset SATA RAID Controllers and maybe even for Intel P35 Chipset systems.
For further details you may look into >this< thread.
Any feedback from SSD RAID0 users with an Intel 3-Series or 4-Series Chipset, who are trying to get TRIM in RAID0 support this way, is much appreciated.

Awesome!!

Still doesn't help me much as I fall into this catergory with my board.

"The latest <100 KB sized Intel RAID ROM version is v10.1.0.1008 (uncompressed size: 85 KB), but this version can not be modified regarding TRIM in RAID0 support (only OROM versions from v10.5 up are supported). "
