RAID1 Question...

Ok...this RAID thing is a much bigger PITA than I thought it was going to be....
Couple of quick questions....

1. I installed windows and started to rebuild the array.
Once the rebuild is done both hard drives will have exactly the same information on them from then on (like new data and stuff) and I don't need to rebuild an array again until one of them dies...correct???

2. When I make a new parition in that array that same partition will be made on both drives right??? The structure will be the same....

Once the array is set up, you should only see a single drive in windows. Any changes made on that filesystem should be duplicated automatically on the second drive by the RAID controller. The drives should only rebuild again if for some reason the array gets broken.

I forgot one more question...do I need to convert these disks to Dynamic disks or not???
From what I understand drives need to be converted to Dynamic only if I am using software raid....

If you are using a hardware controller, it shouldn't matter. You only need the disks to be Dynamic if you are doing software RAID through Windows.
