so i just got this case, and it has some nice features, however the instructions are crap. It has a front lcd fan speed monitor, hdd monitor, temp display.etc... I have found everything except the hdd led wire (not all that important), and also i cannot find where the fan speed wire goes. According to raidmax's website it says "3 pin connector whcih can be connected to a converter to clock fan speed" so i found the 3 pin connector, but where does it go? do i need to buy something to make it work? The mobo im using is a Soyo Dragon KT400 black.

any help is much appreciated.

You might consider providing some linkage to your case or the pdf of the instructions. MmmmKay.
I sure like having a HD activity light.

Shoot! I've been looking and reading for 20 minuets.

I bet you have to patch the fan into the speed monitor. It does only monitor one fan.
The fan speed three pin would plug into the mobo jack then the fan into the other lead, if there is one, from the speed monitor. I looked best I can and the instructions are crap. I looked at 4 reviews hoping they would discuss the wiring set-up but none did.

You might want to Google for some reviews that have more detail than the ones offered at Raidmax's site.

For general front panel wiring hook-up directron.com has a good tutorial but they wouldn't cover this case.

Wished I could be of more help. Bump this thread tomorrow a couple guys here have this case.

A HD activity light is good to have because when mal-ware takes over the comp it will light up when it shouldn't. Time to check what's going on when that happens. Gaming on-line with no protection is dangerous

Plug the case's 80 mm into that 3 pin male that's coming out of the door. Plug the hard drive pins into the motherboard (they should be black). Refer to the motherboard manual for help.

I never used the 3 pin since I plugged the 80 mm into the motherboard. I'll be replacing all of the fans that came with my X-1 with Cooler Master LEDs fans (one 80mm and two 120mm--one in front and another in the back, replacing the black 120mm). All my fans will be plugged into the motherboard (yay for Abit).

the wire almost doesnt seem long enough to reach the door, any suggestions on routing?

what do you mean you plugged the 80mm into the motheboard? There are two connectors there, a 2 pin one, the size of a connector you'd put to say your cd drive which i currently have plugged into the PSU, and then the 3 pin female. So this doesnt monitor the HSF, but just the case fan on the door?

last question, did you have any problems with the lcd temp display working right? Right now the display shows what looks like a 5, but missing the bottom vertical section, the next one looks like a 5 but missing the middle horizontal section, and the C only shows the bottom of the C. Firstly it seems that its saying its 55*C, which isnt right, right now im showing the cpu at 34*, but even besides that, the numbers are fudged anyway....im assuming i have a bad lcd display, but i have emailed raidmax tech support for additional assistance. I just hate the thought of having to remove everything and sending it back.

I just picked-up this case from Fry's and it appears to be working just fine. I took the thermal sensor and actually placed it on the heatsink, so I now have 3 points to check the cooling of my system: CPU, Motherboard and Heatsink.

I haven't experienced any of the problems you're mentioning, but my HDD indicator seems to be always on - I think I might have a polarity issue with the HDD wires, which is easily fixed.

Other than that, a very nice Case!

ok, i was just wondering if anyone knew about the temp. gauge, because the box shows it in celsius, and it is actually in farenheit, Looking carefully at the display shows that it can display C, but I have had no reply from the company as to how to do so...

don't know how to make it read in Celsius but I'm thinking it deals with actually taking the screws off the door, taking it apart and flipping a switch of some kind.

angrynerdrock: you did plug the molex from the case's LED in, right?

woot grats on the case i got one as well, down side was more my mobo than the case, i also broke off one of the "tooless" mounting brackets for the hard drive, i think i screwed up my harddrive a little 8| other than that its nice

EDIT:Another thing that was wierd was that the 120 fan in the back gets in the way of my on board sound card. i have a lanparty ut ultra-d so i have that groovy karajan sound card thing

I'll take apart the door when I get my Freezer 64 Pro some time during the week and see what I can do about temp reading.

Got this case last week instead of P150.
I am mostly happy with it. I shoudl have considered a separate power supply instead of the bundled 450W unit.
I am really annoyed that the power supply does not provide enough separate power cables despite having so many drive bays.
The SATA cable is a nice touch, but it is too short to reach the drive at the bottom of the case.
A separate PCI-E cable for video card would have been nice as well.

I am curious to see if anyone can switch the front panel temperature from F to C, though I find it a bit useless to have the probe hanging inside the case.
The fan LED just got annoying, so I disconnected it. The power LED is useless as well (blue neon in the fan is obvious).
I wished they put access to the USB & audio jacks outside the front door panel.
Ok, I will stop nit picking. I should have researched all these details before I picked it up.

still haven't bothered with it. i've probably missed my chance since I just put my components back into my case and don't plan on cracking it open because i'll be sticking with this OC.
