I love what this stuff does to my windshield. I dont really care what it is (if it's some sort of window wax or whatever) but it's awesome. My only problem is it's application... pain in the arse and after it fogs up, sometimes you dont wipe it all off

I like it though, and will continue to use it.

Ingredient Name......................... METHANOL (20-35%)

It does not contain any wax...and do not get it on rubber or the car trim.

Want to know how to make your window crystal clear???? Put the rain-x on and wait for a haze. Then get one dripping wet wash cloth and one dry towel. Run the wet washcloth over the window surface (pushing on it a little bit) and then dry with the towel.

my method is
-apply rain-x on cleaned and dried windshield with a terry towel
-wait and let it haze (~1-2 mins)
-sprinkle some water on windshield
-wipe clean with up and down motion with a dry paper towel

How do you get the inside crystal clear?? I always have this problem. The rain-x is great, especially during the rain... almost don't have to use the wipers.

I'm constantly cleaning my inside windshield, I dont smoke, but it always seems to get some sort of a hazy film on it... Windex cleans it off fine.

Ya know, that always used to really bug me when I detailed customer?s cars. Almost anything one uses on the inside of the windshield invariably leaves some kind of film or something that could be seen. After a long while I determined that the inside of a windshield has not real shortcut. To be done correctly requires time and just the right amount of sunlight at the right angle. What I do is clean the window with any glass cleaner. The get one wet and one dry lint free cloths . Wipe the window down with the wet one, dry with the dry one. The get a third lint free cloth that just has a hint of moisture on it----just enough to barely be able to tell on the window. This one is used to remove any haze, swirl or water marks left that will show up when it is sunny outside (car is in the shade) and you look at an angle.

Man...I used to spend hours getting the windows just right when I detailed cars. The final touches on the windows were the last thing I would do. It just makes me cringe when I see a car with someone smoking inside and you can see the thick, heavy haze of cig smoke that has attached itself to the windows..... uke;

I use Invisible Glass (a Stoner product) and it works well. It will clear your inside windows.

I've gotta drop by the auto store after work to get my wife some new wiper blades, I'll pick it up if it's not too expensive.

Only thing I hated about Rain-X was even with proper application, in the mornings it'd build up a fog because of the dewpoint/temperature something or other and you couldn't clear it until the defroster heated up enough to warm the windows. It was from the RainX as without it the windows did not have that problem.

I bought their windshiled washer addititive stuff and it works fairly well, definitely better than nothing at all.

The last time I cleaned my car, I used some newspaper plus vinegar, and it is the cleanest my windows have EVER been! Even the inside, which I have tried all number of different things on! It's been about 6 weeks since I did it, and the inside of the windscreen is still clear, anything else, and it would have been filthy within 3 days!

Don't worry about getting a bit of newspaper without much ink on, the more the better!

And it doesn't make the car stink of vinegar either, which I was very surprised at!

You should reapply about every 3 months... and why would you want to remove it anyway?

Fog-X works nicely for the inside...takes a little more patience to apply than Rain-X though.
