That doesn't work and has already been tested by SM2.0 card owners on UbiSoft forums.Originally posted by: gorcorps
Here's the tweak. If somebody like shiro can try it out that would be cool:
Users MAY Not Need a Shader Model 3.0 Card
WARNING: This has not been tested.

I've ordered many games from Gogamer with never an issue. IMO, they have the best deals around which is nice since Gamestop and company has forced used/trade-ins on PC games out of the market and tried fixing prices. Remember when you could actually find a bunch of pre-played 3-year old games for a good price?
In regards to R6 Vegas, this game is really incredible. I picked this game up for $50, but it was well worth the money. I'm not really a tactical fan, nor am I often wowed by graphics. This game had me on the edge of my seat for a good 10 hours+ and I'm just getting started on multi-player. The gameplay kind of reminds me of FEAR. After having finished GOW, Prey, COD3 in less than 6 hours each, it's really nice to play a single-player game that has a good length as well as gameplay and AI. I've also had no technical issue with this game which is unfortunately uncommon nowadays. The only issue is the widescreen support. While 1600x1200 looks ok on my 24" Dell, it could look much better at 1900x1200. I shouldn't have to mod a game to get widescreen a this point... WTH?.
If you have the PC muscle (yes, this game is a system hog), the graphics are absolutely sick - better than anything I've seen on any system so far, GOW, Oblivion, COH included. I'm running a CD2 3.4ghw/2x 8800gtx sli, so I'm not sure how it scales on mid-low end systems.

agree with it all..gogamer.com is great..i only buy games from them..screw eb/gamestop.
And this game is amazing. I normally cant stand the rainbox six type games, but i cant stop playing this one. How much flexability there is in the game...rappel(sp?) down walls, drop on ropes, take cover behind stuff, peek around walls, fire around walls without sticking your head out, ai that uses grenades/flashbangs accurately...its just what i've been wanting for in a pc game, for a long time. If you just run out there guns blazing..you die.
my comp is core2 e6600, ati 1950xt, 2gig of ram, and the game runs just fine at 1400x875, i think i have it set at. I did drop the shadow quality down alittle, not really a noticable change to the graphics, and it doesnt cause a drop in fps in big firefights..and i mean some BIG firefights(me+2 squadmates, against like 10 ai)...cant wait to do co-op with my friends...once they upgrade their pos computers
sidenote-this is the first pc game to use the unreal 3 engine..so if you cant run this good, might want to think about those upgrades for the next line of games like ut2k7

Totally false. This was a terrible port to the PC. It does not support AA, Has terrible frame-rates on just about any computer. You will have to turn the settings down to really enjoy this game. This is not an example of what UT2K7 will be like. Wait for a NON-PORT PC game to be based on the Unreal 3 engine before you make a upgrade purchase.
Anyway, great price OP. Thanks.

no sli support either, I think this is all because they weren't originaly going to release it for PC but did so at the last minute.

lol, plus the xbox 360 version is already bugtastic enough...the PC version actually manages to be buggier-which is quite the feat.
It's also mostly optimized to run on (unsurprisingly) the Xbox 360's ATI hardware, so the best thing to run this on is a x1950xtx or something like that.
Well, that or an 8800gtx, lol.
Seriously, I've seen the benchmarks for the PC version and it's basically a joke, even the newest hardware would have to run it at 1024x768 to be playable. If you don't have either the x19xx series or an 8800 series card, you're basically out of luck because it'll be unplayable. And I hope you have a fast CPU too, since the game was made for the triple cores of the 360.
Still, it makes me feel good that the 360 actually manages to push some decent power with this game, even if GoW looks better =)
Surprisingly I think I'm finally getting the hang of playing an FPS on a console...the control on the 360 version of Vegas is actually acceptable-too bad my vegas won't load past the first stage because my xbox 360 needs to be exchanged for a non broken one.

My friend runs a good 30-35fps on a 3800X2/1GB 3200/7600GT KO
