It's nice to see a 3rd party eating away from the other side.

Ah, Napalm381, you possess great acumen. That's why I'm getting such a kick out of Nader's campaign. The shoe is on the other foot.

Ralph Nader will probably single-handedly return the House back to Democratic control.

That's his main goal.

jonny, I think Nader is one of the most laughable and incompetent public figures I've ever seen. Of course I'm not serious.

SystemzOperator: There are NO throw away votes unless you DON'T VOTE. :|

Napalm: Whatever dude. All I see in Gore and Bush are your typical paycheck collecting, lie throught the teeth, politicians.

<< typical paycheck collecting >>

Ralphie will take a lot more of my paycheck then Al and GW would. All I see in Ralph is somebody who (a) opposes free trade (hint: TRADE IS GOOD, see Economics 101); (b) supports nationalized health care (leads to fewer specialists and a lower quality of care); (c) doesn't have a clue about life in the real world in general.

paycheck collecting = not YOUR paycheck. THEIR paycheck.

I'm not getting into a political debate here. I know everyone here has their own opinions and nobody is going to change them.

Fact is, I think sticking with BIPARTISAN sucks.

I confuse the hell out of everybody when I sit and listen to Rush Limbaugh (The Way Things Ought To Be and See I Told You So are great reading by the way) and think he's very entertaining, but then turn around and vote Democrat because of issues, not party.

I refuse to "hide" behind a party.

I know what's important to me. You know what's important to you. That's that, and as long as the next pres doesn't end up getting us all killed, I'm happy.

That's it, I'm converting to (what party is Nader in?). We have got to get out there and get every Democrat to vote for Nader. He's the next (insert your favorite Democrat, I can't think of one.) He'll save the country from (insert your favorite fear for the country).

Nader gets torn a new butt every time he is interviewed. Clinton/Gore lean toward socialism. Nader defines the word!

Nader is tilting at windmills. The people who vote for Ralph might as well vote for Bush because their vote will have the same effect. This election is about two people only-Bush and Gore (I'm not counting the American people, 'cause we don't count). Gore would win handily if Nader stepped aside and threw his support to Gore. Of course, Nader probably hates Gore more than he hates Bush, so that will never happen.

I'd vote for Nader if he didn't have his head up is butt about NAFTA, abortion, and genetically engineered foods (what a crock!). At least he's honest, and he's no fool. But, like Buchanan, he has no chance. Thank God Buchanan is done, by the way. I suspect his shallow support intimates that far right wing populism is moribund, at least for now.

Why throw your vote away? You may have a clear conscience, but when Bush is in the White House and the economy goes into the dumper from trickle down economics or some other hair-brained Republican economic theory du jour, then you will be rueing your vote.

I admire people who have ideals, but politics is all about compromise and being willing to accept half a loaf rather than no loaf at all. Elect Gore and you'll have half a loaf. Elect Bush and your loaf will be given to the oil barons, insurance tycoons, NRA, drug companies, and all the other Daddy Warbucks morons in the Republican Party.

Johnny:

I just revisited Nader's site (been a while and I forgot his "talking points&quotand I was surprised how much I agree with him on many issues. He makes great points about social security, health care, and the environment. His stand on guns is way too conservative for me. Just think, guys like Russ and Tom own guns. j/k (I think we need abolition or very tight control of guns.)

Anyway, I see why he is getting so much support. Too bad he has no chance of being elected. He probably would be a better candidate than Gore.

Yep, Ralphy is just the classic Democrat. There's no reason why he shouldn't represent the party. Damn, the the Dems wouldn't have been so lame and chose Ralph instead of Gore to head the ticket, I'd be voting for Ralph next month!

Hah! You think I'm kidding? I once registered as a Democrat to vote for Jessie Jackson in the primaries. Now there's another classic Democrat...
