Run a divider and push the HTT/Memory speeds to */200.

Drawbacks are forced 2T timings. Which can be negated through a small overclock.

Though if you are just gaming you may just want to see how 2GBs will overclock, and move to 4GB if are hitting your page file.

Most hardcore gamers would probably vouch for a 4 single sided 512MB memory configuration. 2GB @ 1T with the tighest timings, for best overall performance before you overclock. Edit or 2x1GB with good timings as well. Obviously leaves more room for memory later.

well,Photoshop CAN NOT handle more than 2gb of ram So,simply if you assign 2+gb,it wont do any good. This even says on their website.

That is not true with XP64.

Huh? Maybe Windows will be able to handle more than 4GB(it's all windows xp can,if you didn't know).So,maybe windows 64 can handle more memory,doesn't mean Photoshop can. Not now...not yet.

i think x64 can handle 128GB of RAM and up to 16TB virtual ram.

On a side note, I like how Adobe states you must use XP SP2 to use the /3GB switch. :roll:

I could have sworn I've been using this since WinNT.

I dont really use my computer for anything useful outside of gaming. I do play a little bit of EverQuest2 though, and expect to play similar games down the line (like Vanguard if your into that genre). EQ2 is pretty much unplayable with 1GB RAM at the settings I'm using, so I figured maybe I'd get even better performance with 4GB, especially in those next titles coming up this fall and in 2006.

Windows won't allocate more than 2GB of memory to a single program..so 4gb isn't gonna help EQ2 run any better...unless you have the 64bit version of XP, I think it will allocate more memory to a program..

go for 2gb, 4gb is not necessary imo, plus u have the drawbacks with T2 and lower timings.

64-bit Windows allows 32-bit processes (marked as large address aware) to allocate 4GB each.
