Hi guys~
Currently i am planning:
i5-4670k w/ 212 evo cooling
GTX 780
Intel 180G SSD
ASUS Z87-A mobo
Define R4 case

now for the RAM, i got a great price on the G.SKILL Ripjaws 2X4G 1600MHZ 1.5V 9-9-9-24

is this good for my system? Plan to do mild overclocking, like 4.0-4.2(hopefully the evo is enough)
do i need to buy a faster RAM? like the 1866 or even 2000+MHZ ones?

You can buy faster RAM if you want, but generally returns diminish drastically as you go beyond 1600/1866. The G.Skill 1600 kit should be fine.

OCing since Sandy Bridge is totally independent of your memory speed.

You should try the G.Skill forums. Lots of very good advice to be had there regarding which G.Skill memory lines should work best with which chipsets and overclocking ambitions.

If I were shopping for high quality memory, I would use the following parameters as a guide...

* DDR3 rated at 1.5v or lower
* DDR3 rated at the lowest CAS I could afford
* DDR3 rated at the highest clock speed I could afford
* Limit the scope of my purchease to G.Skill, Mushkin, Samsung, Corsair XMS or Crucial (non-Ballistix)

While not wavering on the voltage point, I would balance the other issues with my budget.

Remember, my goal is not pure "benchmarking" performance, but simply finding the highest quality memory I can afford. ^_^
The only reason I pay a premium for low latency, high speed, low voltage memory is...
Quality and quality alone.
1.5v is the JEDEC DDR3 voltage standard.
Stay with 1.5v or less if you can afford it..

1st..This cooler is better than 212+ : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...TC-Froogle-_-CPU+Cooling-_-Enermax-_-35214023

I would..Haswell will clock RAM as high as it goes.
I have nice "high-quality" memory ..it's running @ 1.73v atm..and that's taking it easy

PS:That rumor about "Keep it within X of IMC/CPU voltage is a crock of crap.

I would get this: (I plan on getting this next..just for kicks) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148557 X2
