RAM compatibility for GA-P35-DS3L

Hi,

I am pretty much set on getting the GA-P35-DS3L, because I'm not planning on doing any SLI/CF and I don't think I'll need the RAID that comes with GA-P35-DS3R, and I've been reading good reviews on the P35-DS3L (comments?)

So I was looking at RAMs and I had read somewhere that some mobos might be incompatible with certain brands of RAM. I looked up giga-byte.com and got a list of "compatible RAM" for the P35-DS3L: http://www.giga-byte.com/FileL...ry_ga-p35-ds3l_2.0.pdf

However, the list seems pretty outdated (?) Was trying to match it with RAMs on sale at newegg and it appears that many of the RAMs currently on sale aren't on the list.

I was just wondering how much I should be concerned with RAM-mobo compatibility, and whether some of you guys could tell me what RAMs you're using with the DS3L that work fine. I'm looking at DDR2 either 1066 or 800, and was thinking of either Kingston/Corsair/Crucial (recommendations?)

Thanks. This is my first build so... please pardon my severe lack of knowledge...

I got 2GB of Corsair XMS PC6400 at Microcenter ($40 AR) and it works great. I didn't have to change anything in the BIOS. Slapped it in and booted.

I'm running with 2x1GB sticks of Super Talent and 2x1GB Crucial.
Not having any issues at all , and the pc is overclocked, E4500@3.3Ghz.

Get DDR2-800 that's specified to run at 1.8V. Timings aren't all that important.

You don't need to pay for DDR2-1066 unless you're looking to push your FSB significantly past 400MHz.

Not everyone knows what the JEDEC spec is, especially people asking for RAM advice.

Besides, you didn't say anything about timings.
