RAM - FSB problems

Motherboard - ASROCK VSTA 775
CPU - Conroe E6300
RAM - Simple Tech DDR3200 256MB x2 (DUAL CHAN)

Here's the prob:

Since my ram (DDR 400mhz) is in dual channel, I thought my FSB would double up to run at 800mhz to the cpu, however, it's stuck at 533mhz.

I believe my bios date is the latest (sept 9 06), everything is set to auto in the bios (im not trying to OC), yet the bios info is saying my ram is ddr running @ 266mhz. Why?

I tried doing what someone (forgot - its 1am at the pc...) It locked up during boot - no POST.

So, I had to find a jumper block to clear CMOS. after shutting down the computer, opening the box, inserting block and waiting a few seconds, then removing block. Restarted computer and a whole bunch of CMOS checksum errors showed up. After setting the system up with CPU at "Auto" the fsb was not at 266, but 253 or 25X. And the memory frequency was not correct either.

Ok, when back in BIOS, make sure that you set the CPU to Async - NOT Auto, and have your memory set to ddr400. Don't forget to check your DIMM's voltage setting.

Not to mention all of the other settings, I/O, Raid, AGP, etc.

Got that 4:3 for the FSBRAM ratio and 199.6 for the memory frequency. And proper speed for the processor.

So, to sum up. Clear your CMOS and reset everything in BIOS. CPU at "Async", DRAM at DDR400 (for those like you and me with DDR400), and double check all other settings in BIOS. Save changes and reboot. Check with either Everest or CPU-Z.

i can't find where to change the ratio to 4:3 in the bios; also, what bios version do u have?

Seems that the board was tested with DDR2 when it left the factory.

My BIOS is 2.10.

As in my post above...

You need to physically clear the board's CMOS, there is a jumper near the battery.
