Hi.
Im not very familiar with RAM, so i wanted to ask a few questions...

What's the best RAM for an ASUS 875P P4C800-E DELUXE?
Is it a PC800 or a PC1066 RDRAM, or PC400 DDR

What about RAM for ABIT K8T800 KV8-MAX3 Athlon64 3200+ based?

Which RAM is better and compatible with each of these 2 boards, DDr or RDRAM ?

Thanks!

DDR ram is what you are looking for.

PC 3200 Ram should be fine if you are not overclocking.

But if you want ram that will run faster or if you want to overclock you might look at some PC 3500 ram.

If you aren't going to be overclocking, get a name brand (Kingston, Corsair, Mushkin, or OCZ) PC3200 DDR400 Module. That will work fine with either board you are looking at.

As opposed to not getting a brand name if you are?

No, opposed to getting something other than PC3200 if you are overclocking. If he were overclocking, my post would have read as follows:

If you are going to be overclocking, get a name brand (Kingston, Corsair, Mushkin, or OCZ) PC3500 DDR433 or higher (PC3700, PC4000, PC4200, or PC4400) Module. That will work fine with either board you are looking at.

Thanks for ur answers guys.
Also, what is better for non overclocking... a Dual-channel of lets say 1 Gig Corsair, or just 1 stick of 1Gig corsair?

a 2x512 kit is better for your p4 and does Corsair even make 1 gig sticks that are non-ecc?

noppe actually i think it doesnt... couldnt find any non-ecc.. But still if there was a dual-channel of 2x256mb corsair, and 1 512mb stick of corsair... i think 1 512mb stick should do better right?

Also whats the difference with ECC and non-ECC ?

no it would not,for dual channel to work you NEED to have 2 sticks of ram,so get 2 x 512 megs.

ECC is mainly use for servers because it's got error correction but that makes it a bit slower too,for a desktop pc ECC is not required as a lot of desktop mobos dont even support ECC.
