Well my Rampage III Formula is now bad.:\ I used it for about ten days before it decided to malfunction. Last night I decided to try my SSD on the Marvel SATA port so I shut it down and moved the SATA cable from the standard SATA port to the Marvel port. That's all I did (besides enabling it in the BIOS). I have no idea why I did not install it that way in the first place. So at first the board would not boot. Weird. Why would changing to the Marvel port cause the machine to not boot? Then when it finally booted it booted without any of the overclock settings I had previously used. Weird again. But it would not boot past the Marvel detection phase. So I shut it down and connected everything back up the way it was before. Now the board boots really slowly and the NIC is dead. The SSD boots crazy. When Win7 loads the four colors that make up the Win7 flag they boot like they are in slow motion. At some point they finish and boot all the way. Feels like a short but the NIC and Marel SATA ports are definetly dead. Tried the obvious, new SSD, new network cable to a new port on the switch. No joy. NewEgg is sending a replacement. I guess I could have caused this with a static shock but I don't recall anything like that happening. Plus I was nowhere near the NIC. Anyway thought everyone might like to know. I will post when I receive the new board. Sigh...
