Rampage V Extreme vs X99 Deluxe... I am missing something, or really does X99 Deluxe have everything the Rampage V Extreme does (other than red and black color)?

The one thing I'm not certain about is if the X99 Deleuxe has MicroFine Alloy Chokes and Same High/Low Side Mosfets?

Also, so which board is technically suppose to be Asus's top quality board between the 2?

Both are top boards, but with a little difference in features/focus

Overclocking -> Rampage V
Features -> Deluxe

I don't like either of the ASUS boards mentioned by the OP. the Delux has a funky M.2 implementation and the Extream has M.2 in a unusual place also.

ASUS appear to be coasting on the past success this time round, their boards are not worth it IMO.

To be honest, I'd recommend considering other vendors.

Gigabyte's X99 SOC Force is a good buy at $350. For a few more features, there's the MSI X99S X-Power, at $400, which is very OC oriented and all of the useful features on the RVE, save 3x3 Wi-Fi. Asrock's X99 OC Formula is another option.

Considering performance and stability, how good is MSI SOC Force? Or that X99 SLI Plus?

I like the bootability of my soon-to-have XP941. Not sure if other vendors support it?

The Extreme is pretty much that for extreme overclocking with multi GPU'S, the deluxe has almost all the same feature, But is more of a desk top and it will not clock out as high. The top board is the extreme, coming from an As rock you'll love it

I have the X99 Deluxe. I didn't want to wait for the RVE to come out. Having said that, I'm very happy with the Deluxe even though the M.2 implementation is rather strange as Redstorm pointed out. I've used Asus mobos since the late 1990s with nary a problem. What I like best is Asus' UEFI. For some reason it's easier, more intuitive for me to use and that's primarily why is didn't buy a Gigabyte or ASRock board.

One of our fellow members just posted a link to a YouTube demonstration in overclocking the i7-5960X using the X99-Deluxe. My personal "fat lady hasn't sung" yet, and I'm waiting to see what sort of variants arise from these initial boards. mATX, for instance? or a line of ASUS "-V Pro" boards with X99? Who knows? But you're right about one thing: the UEFI BIOS and options. I could at least see it secondhand in the video.

And maybe I already said it. Customer reviews of motherboards tend to reflect the shortcomings of customers as well as the boards themselves, and there is a bias that people with frustrations post more reviews, while the truly satisfied post fewer. So the "one-Egg" and "two-Egg" reviews don't reflect a quality-control statistic with any accuracy.
